The Hashimoto Comes to the Fore in Overwatch with the Exciting Release of Shion in Season 3
The new Overwatch season is almost upon us. Season 3: Into the Tiger’s Den launches on June 16th. Alongside the new season is the seventh hero added in Reign of Talon, Shion. Shion is a high-ranking official in the Hashimoto Clan. She is the 52nd hero added to Overwatch. She is quick, agile, and most importantly, brings her bike to the gunfight.
Shion’s Release Trailer
In Shion’s reveal trailer, she accepts a call from a member of the Hashimoto clan, requesting her help dealing with Overwatch. Shion arrives on what will soon become her infamous bike to fight Sojourn. Sojourn is trying to prevent a shipment to an unknown third party. Sojourn is mostly successful, but one crate survives the battle. Shion delivers the final crate to Mauga. It is revealed that the shipment is a weapons delivery for Talon. Mauga states that Vendetta will not be happy with the delivery. However, Shion is confident that Vendetta will be “thrilled,” and they will be in touch soon.

Initial Impressions

Upon first glance, Shion appears to be a character with a high-skill ceiling. Her high mobility will make it difficult for enemies to take her down. Her having a bike will add a new dynamic. The bike speed and the cooldown will significantly impact her effectiveness. If she can reposition often during a fight, she will become a problem for enemies. The Evade itself is already a scary tool. The length and total of the overhealth might increase her survivability.
She might take Tracer’s place as the dominant flanker hero. For the most part, her consistent damage seems on the lower side. That means pairing her with other DPS heroes like Sojourn, Sierra, Emre, Ashe, etc. will increase her effectiveness. She can finish off targets. Especially looking at the X Machina perk, which deals bonus damage to half-health enemies. She will benefit from other heroes dealing damage first, allowing her to get in, kill, and get out.
No Hero Trial For Shion
As with Sierra, there is no hero trial for Shion. Shion launches with Season 3: Into the Tiger’s Den on June 16th. She should be available in all game modes, including competitive play. Be ready to play and play against Shion from the first day of the new season.
