MSI 2026 Match Preview T1 Versus FURIA: T1 Taking the Dangerous Path
After advancing through the MSI Play-In Stage, T1 lost their first series to Bilibili Gaming. T1 is no stranger to the Lower Bracket. They always play there at MSI. However, they rarely drop this early. Their next opponent should be a comfortable victory. FURIA showed good signs in their first series, but they could not close out games. That will be a problem up against the LCK second seed.
Narrow Losses

FURIA may have lost the series 3-0 to LYON, but they had chances to win. They were ahead in the first and second games. With fewer mistakes, they could have been in the Upper Bracket, with an additional life. For T1, they lost most of their games during the draft. They gave themselves hard-to-execute drafts, and it hampered their chances in a 3-2 loss to Bilibili Gaming.
Featured Matchup
Faker Versus Tutsz
With FUR wanting to play through mid lane as much as possible, Tutsz must get past Faker. Faker showed during the series against Bilibili Gaming that he still has it in him. The solo kill on Knight and the Cassiopeia performance prove that Faker is still a force to be reckoned with. If Tutsz does not bring his A game, Faker will dismantle him.
Converting Leads to Wins
FUR could not convert their advantages to wins against LYON. If they have the same problems in this series, it will be worse for them. Already at MSI, T1 has won games while being significantly behind. They did it against Team Liquid Alienware, Karmine Corp, and Bilibili Gaming. No lead is ever safe against the World Champions. If you give them a chance to recover in a game, they will punish you.
FUR was not clean in the mid-to-late game against LYON. The LCS first seed punished them for those mistakes. FUR can take T1 on in the early game. They are the weakest of the favorite teams in the early game. If FUR can take the fight to T1, like they normally do, they will have a chance.
What Will T1’s Drafts Be?

T1 is notorious for drafting themselves into a hole. They usually choose team compositions that have narrow win conditions. Most of the time, they outplay their opponents, so it does not matter what they draft. However, BLG punished them for their draft mistakes. FUR is a team that might push them in the early game, but the draft should not cause T1 to lose. However, they must improve their drafting and identify the priority picks for future series. When they have more room to play, they can take over. We saw that in game four, where Peyz and Keria dominated Bilibili Gaming’s bot lane with Mel and Pyke.
Prediction
T1 3-0 FURIA
While T1’s drafts are weak, their gameplay is not. Once they had a chance to play, they outclassed BLG. FUR should not have the level to keep T1 from steamrolling them. Any lead against T1 is not enough. You have to kill the Nexus, and doing that against them is no easy feat. Had FUR looked better in the latter stages of games, we would have more hope for them. However, their biggest weakness is T1’s biggest strength. With so many ways for T1 to make comebacks in games, FUR will have their work cut out for them.
A Familiar Foe in the Next Round
T1 have played against G2 Esports on multiple occasions at international events. Should they win against FUR, they will have to play another series against the LEC giants. The loser between T1 and FUR will exit the competition as the second team eliminated from the Bracket Stage.
