LCK 2026 Regular Season Day 43: Gen.G’s Dominant Victory Keeps Them in the Hunt
Gen.G Esports needed a victory in today’s series to stay in the hunt for the top two in the LCK. A 2-0 win over HANJIN BRION forces T1 to win 2-0 against FearX tomorrow. Dplus KIA and KRX made changes to their rosters for their series. KRX took their usual game win against top-five opponents, but could not convert it into a series victory.
Dplus KIA Versus KRX
Game One – Trades in the Early Game
The action starts early in this series as Siwoo and Rich fight to the death at level 1. Both top laners die as they reset back to the lane. Siwoo earns another solo kill to move ahead in the lane. Smash also finds his own solo kill on Jiwoo once he hits level 6. KRX responds with a couple of plays from Rich and Willer, keeping the game even. However, when it comes to the team fights, DK reigns supreme. Sharvel peels perfectly for his carries, and DK runs away with game one.
Game Two – Crushing Through Bot Lane
Willer goes for a level 1 invade, which pays off. He splits the map and ganks the bot lane. He puts Smash and Career behind. It goes from bad to worse for DK’s bot lane. With a lack of resources, they can not stand up to Jiwoo and Andil. Smash dies three times in the early game, and Jiwoo has a 1k gold lead. The game is slow as KRX builds incremental leads. By the time DK gets their first kill of the game, KRX is too far ahead.
Game Three – Winning Skirmishes
The first skirmish of the game goes in favor of DK. They get two kills and steal the Drake away. That becomes a constant throughout the game. Even when it looks shaky for DK, they come out ahead. ShowMaker’s Aurora played a significant part in the success, always finding the angles. KRX thought they had ShowMaker killed before the Soul Point fight, but Siwoo saved him. ShowMaker returned to help clean up the fight. The rest of the game was not the cleanest from DK, but they were too far ahead.

Gen.G Esports Versus HANJIN BRION
Game One – Soul Is the Only Win Condition
The early game goes horribly for BRO. Their bot lane loses the 2v2, and Casting dies because of Chovy’s roam. BRO’s only way back into the game early on is their Drake stacking. GIDEON steals away the third Drake, but BRO loses most of their team in the process. The gold lead continues to increase with Gen.G trying to force Baron. The overstay allows BRO to get the Soul. However, Gen.G matches and their wallets are too strong. With the win condition gone, BRO can not fight back.
Game Two – Close Until It Was Not
BRO had a decent start to the game. Their dive on Ruler gave them a chance in the early game. Casting also had an okay time against Kiin’s Ambessa. One team fight is all Gen.G needed to take control of the game. From that point, BRO never stood a chance in the fights. With Caitlyn never having time to set up, BRO could not win the fights. The poke from Chovy and Ruler, combined with Kiin’s strength, made it impossible. BRO did not go down without a fight. However, Gen.G and Chovy rebutted all their engagements.

Two Substitutes
Jiwoo returned to KRX for the first time in the LCK regular season. He was not the only substitute for the series. Sharvel subbed in for DK in place of Lucid in the jungle role. Jiwoo performed well in game two but struggled in the rest. Sharvel did his job throughout the LCK series. At times, he has been too timid to pull the trigger when he could have been more proactive.
Gen.G Give Themselves A Chance
Gen.G had to win 2-0 today to give themselves the best chance to finish in the top two of the LCK. It is no longer in their hands. If T1 drops a game to FearX tomorrow, Gen.G will finish in second. A 2-0 win will see T1 leapfrog Gen.G once more, because of the game score. BRO will also be watching the FearX series. If T1 beats them, BRO qualifies for the LCK Road to MSI.
