It has been revealed that Palworld Online is being developed by Garena Online Private Limited, with Pocketpair licensing the Palworld IP to the Singapore developer. While Palworld spent 2.5 years in early access and was fully released on July 10, 2026, there haven’t been any mobile ports, as the focus was on consoles and PC. The Krafton team behind PUBG Mobile had beta testing for Palworld Mobile in Dec. 2025, but with limited access in Korea and Japan, leaving many mobile gamers in the proverbial dust.

Could Garena’s Palworld Online, slated for a 2026 release, be the answer to mobile gamers’ hopes of Palworld on the go?

According to Garena’s statement, they are developing and publishing the upcoming mobile survival and creature-capture phenomenon, Palworld Online, for a mobile audience. With Garena at the helm, they are crafting a unique story based on the core of the Palworld game but with the added benefit of becoming an MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online), opening new ways for players of the title to join together and survive the trials. The announcement further boasts a seamless open world, saying they want gamers to be able to play and progress whenever they want, wherever they may be.

The President at Garena, Terry Zhao, acknowledges that Palworld has become its own recognizable IP (Intellectual Property), creating a foundation for his team to craft a whole new experience on mobile. Pocketpair and Garena appear to be working together to ensure Palworld Online gets it right, creating an optimized mobile game that remains faithful to the PC version’s integrity with a whole new playable system. The CEO of Pocketpair, Takuro Mizobe, gave a nod to Garena’s team for their experience in mobile game development and expressed optimism about new ways gamers will be able to experience Palworld across the globe.

Palworld Online: Fresh Ideas

While the game is slated to incorporate much of Palworld’s existing framework, with users exploring the world with their Pals, it appears they are taking the original story and game lore and expanding upon it. The announcement from Garena shares that there will be unique side stories exclusive to their iteration of the game, adding a level of freshness to the content that others might be accustomed to. Little has been revealed so far about Palworld Online, so there is much speculation about what they are expanding and how they will do it.

The major focus appears to be creating an online world with potential for cooperative play, with their sights set on players collaboratively building settlements. Garena’s release emphasizes group play through competitive challenges in Player vs Environment and Player vs Player matches alongside the ability to chill, visit player bases, or work side by side to take on rampaging Pals and rare finds. Similar to the base game on private or dedicated servers, players can establish a home base, but Garena says it will grow into a collaborative hub with expanding structures.

The critical point of Palworld Online is that the team is bringing the joy of Pal taming to mobile so users can play with their Pals on the go. Making a mobile port is one thing, but optimizing it with a touch-friendly UI designed for pocket-sized devices, without losing the core elements that make Palworld great, is a task Garena is taking seriously.

Garena’s Path Forward: Boots On The Ground

In Sept 2026, at a Tech in Asia conference, the former Garena President, Nick Nash, had a stage presentation. He shared how Garena grew beyond Singapore to become a major name across Southeast Asia, having a substantial advantage over its competition. The reveal ended up being boots on the ground, with over 2,000 going from villages to cafes, meeting with those in charge to install Garena’s cafe-management software.

The conference revealed that Nash did not see potential in the team sitting in Singapore; the people on the ground had secured the vast majority of cybercafes throughout Vietnam, Indonesia, and Thailand. Without the forces going to the villages and cafes, they estimated the market would have only reached 5% of what they held in 2016. He likened the swaths of employees to an army, saying it was Garena’s competitive weapon.

Garena has since become a major Mobile Games publisher, with titles such as Call of Duty: Mobile, Arena of Valor, Delta Force, and a game they developed themselves in 2017, Free Fire. With them spearheading a new take with the bones Pocketpair already laid out, what they turn Palworld Online into could be the next major mobile game on the market.

No official launch date has been announced, only that it will be released in 2026. Members can join the official Palworld Online Discord; there are news channels and social media links to keep up to date.
