“Avengers: Doomsday” 1st Official Concept Art Unveiled at Bilibili World Expo
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige recently promoted “Avengers: Doomsday” by unveiling the film’s first official concept art at the Bilibili World Shanghai Expo. It featured characters already confirmed to be in the movie through last year’s chair announcement, except for Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers, who wasn’t confirmed until last holiday’s first teaser trailer of “Avengers: Doomsday.”
“Avengers: Doomsday” Concept Art Debuts at Shanghai Expo
In the concept of “Avengers: Doomsday” above, you can see Dr. Doom, Thor, Steve Rogers, Ant-Man, Sam Wilson/Captain America, Shang-Chi, the Thunderbolts*, the Fantastic Four, Nightcrawler, Mystique, Gambit, the X-Men, King M’Baku, Falcon (Joaquin Torres), and Black Panther (Shuri). The expo also presented a pre-recorded video message from Robert Downey Jr., who is playing Doom, Chris Hemsworth, and Chris Evans. In essence, the actors were teasing the scope of the film and thanking the audience for their love for the characters.
Feige also revealed RDJ’s exact words when he was offered the role of playing Victor Von Doom in “Avengers: Doomsday.” In a statement obtained by Maxblizz, Feige revealed, “His exact words were, ‘I played the best hero… I can play the best villain.” Feige described Doom as a scientist, a technologist, a sorcerer, and a ruler, making him a very complex character. Doom won’t be a typical ‘I want to destroy the world for the sake of evil’ type of villain.

Feige Confirms “X-Men” Reboot Will Begin After “Avengers: Secret Wars”

The audience was also treated to a release timeline of the upcoming “X-Men” reboot, with Feige saying that the mutants will take the lead after 2027’s “Avengers: Secret Wars.” Disney acquired Fox back in 2019, giving Marvel Studios the rights to the X-Men characters. Casting for the rebooted “X-Men” in the MCU has not been announced yet. However, there has been speculation that Sadie Sink, who has an undisclosed role in “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” will be playing Jean Grey.
We will see whether the rumor is true once the movie hits theaters in two weeks. Per Murphy’s Multiverse, Feige said, “I can’t wait for all of you to see “Avengers: Doomsday,” we have a movie after that called “Avengers: Secret Wars,” and after that the mutants are coming, and the X-Men are coming, and that’s been a dream of mine. I started with the X-Men many, many years ago, and to bring a new version into the MCU is going to be very exciting.”
Marvel Is Set to Return to San Diego Comic-Con 2026
Marvel Studios has booked Hall H on Saturday, July 25, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. PT for an hour long presentation. The company describes them as special guests from across the Marvel Cinematic Universe offering what’s next with their future projects. Industry observers and fans alike are treating that slot as the likely place for the first major public look at “Avengers: Doomsday,” given how close the film is to release and Marvel’s history of using Hall H for major reveals.
Marvel’s physical presence on the convention floor will be concentrated at Booth #2329 and Booth #2519, where the company plans hands‑on gaming zones, experiential photo opportunities and exclusive merchandise. The publisher says the first 50 fans in line each day at its booth will receive an exclusive SDCC Marvel gift, and the Avengers Gift Shop will offer pins, variant comics and discounted Marvel Unlimited bundles. On the publishing side, Marvel is using SDCC to spotlight two major comic initiatives.
“Avengers: Armageddon” will get a deep‑dive panel that focuses on the event’s trajectory, including the storyline in which Red Hulk seizes Latveria and clashes with the Avengers. Attendees who stay through the panel will receive an exclusive copy of “Avengers: Armageddon #2” featuring a secret variant cover by Chip Zdarsky. The company is also promoting the Midnight Universe, its horror‑meets‑superhero imprint, with a Saturday panel mapping the imprint’s next steps.
Marvel’s programming reaches beyond film and comics into television and games. “X‑Men ’97” Season 2 will be the subject of a Friday panel that brings the creative team and surprise voice talent to the stage for an early look at the sophomore season. Insomniac’s Marvel’s “Wolverine” gets a Hall H slot on Thursday morning. The game, billed as “Deep Cuts,” where game creatives and actors Liam McIntyre (Wolverine) and Krizia Bajos (Jean Grey) will reveal new narrative details.
What to Expect in Hall H and On the Floor
Fans visiting the main Marvel booth can pose with a Proto‑Sentinel photo op and pick up a physical copy of Marvel’s “Wolverine” prequel comic written by narrative director Walt Williams. Fighting‑game fans will see “MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls,” with developers from Arc System Works and artist Mike Deodato on hand. Marvel’s return to Hall H follows a year in which the studio scaled back its Comic‑Con presence; this year’s schedule stacks a full weekend of panels, from deep dives into games and comics to the marquee Saturday presentation.
Expect a mix of exclusive footage, surprise guests, and merchandising pushes designed to dominate the conversation on the convention floor and online. Marvel’s SDCC program runs across the convention dates and aims to knit together comics, TV, film and games into a single, fan‑facing push, with Hall H once again positioned as the place for the biggest moments. “Avengers: Doomsday” will hit theaters on December 18, 2026.
