Daily Devotional Friday Faith | May 29, 2026
Happy Friday! It’s time for your daily devotional. As a believer, you’ll notice there are unbelievers all around you. Good and evil coexist in life, meaning you won’t be separated from unbelievers. But you can be an example of Jesus to them. In today’s daily devotional, you’re the light of the world; therefore, shine so that the world may see Christ.
Look Just Like Wheat
In Matthew 13:24, Jesus delivers another kingdom parable, likening the Kingdom of Heaven to a man who sowed good seed in his field. Then something unexpected happened. Verse 25 says, “But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.” Unbeknownst to the sower, his field had been infiltrated by an enemy, who snuck in when he was asleep.
Among the seeds, he sowed tares, or weeds, most likely darnel weeds, that actually look just like wheat in their early growth stages. However, after more growth, it’s evident they’re weeds, and they can uproot the wheat. In your daily devotional, sometimes your hard work may seem threatened by unbelievers, but remain calm, for they may be in your midst, but the greater one lives in you.
Weeds in the Field

In verse 27, the man’s servants asked him why there were weeds in the field where he’d planted wheat. Obviously, this was confusing for his servants, who knew he’d planted good seed there. In every church, seated among believers are unbelievers. They sing in the choir with you, sit beside you on the pews, and even serve in ministry. But they’re not committed to the gospel and can cause trouble in local churches.
Sometimes they’re liars, gossipers, manipulators, or evildoers who can tear a church apart. But you are not to fight or fear them. God has so ordained that unbelievers and believers occupy the same space, breathe the same air, and share the same pews. They’ll test your faith and challenge your love walk, but you must face each test with the power of the Holy Spirit who dwells within you.
In today’s daily devotional, God places believers in situations where they’ll have to put His word into practice. Minister Kenneth E. Hagin once pastored a church filled with doubt and unbelief. Whenever he felt himself becoming angry, he would preach from 1 Corinthians 13, the famous love chapter, or love passages in 1 John 1-5.
Let Both Grow Together
In verse 28, the Sower tells them that an enemy entered the field and planted weeds. When they ask if he wants them pulled up, he answers no, for if that happens, the wheat will be uprooted too. Believers and unbelievers may be family members or have other close relationships. You may teach their children in Sunday School or work together in outreach.
The sower tells the servants his plan in verse 30: “Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.” In this daily devotional, the day is coming when unbelievers will not dwell among believers.
Tomorrow You’ll Shine Like the Sun
In Friday’s daily devotional, Jesus reveals in verses 37-39 that He is the Sower, the field is the world, God’s children are the good seed, and the tares belong to the devil. The harvest is the world’s end, and the reapers, or angels, will separate the unrighteous and cast them into hell. In today’s daily devotional, the righteous will then shine like the sun in God’s heavenly kingdom.
