Daily Devotional Thoughtful Thursday | November 5, 2026

In Thursday's daily devotional, a woman appears to be sitting at a desk reading the Bible as she turns a page.

It’s time for your Thursday morning daily devotional. Proverbs 31 is a powerful chapter mostly dedicated to the strong, virtuous woman. Many things in life can challenge a woman’s strength if she allows it. But God’s Word empowers women. In today’s daily devotional, God uses women in roles no man could ever fill.

Bone of my Bones

God gave women value and purpose. He created Adam, who needed a life partner like Eve. Genesis 2:20 says, “But for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.” In other words, none of the animals God created were a suitable helper for Adam. Upon seeing her, Adam replied, “This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh.”

Adam tilled the soil, and perhaps Eve gathered their food. In your daily devotional, Eve’s story is an example for you today: Don’t listen to the enemy. However, no one who falters loses God’s love and favor. As a virtuous woman, when you fall, repent and return to God; He will receive you with open arms.

Strength to Conceive

Sarah is the first woman who’s spoken of at length in Scripture. Married to Abraham, the Father of Faith, Sarah also had faith. Her beauty caught the eye of kings, yet she was virtuous and didn’t dishonor Abraham. She gave her maid to her husband, not fully comprehending God’s plan. Because of her age, Sarah believed her child-bearing days had passed.

However, she’s listed among the heroes of faith in Hebrews 11:11: “Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age because she judged him faithful.” In this daily devotional, Sarah proves that God can use women at any age. There’s no expiration date on His faithfulness. Like Sarah, you’re blessed when you trust God’s Word. All things are possible when you believe.

I Will Go

In Thursday's daily devotional, a woman is shown near camels, like Rebekah who went with Abraham's servant on them across the desert.

Rebekah, virtuous and kind, was found serving when Abraham’s servant met her. In Genesis 24:34-49, when he explained his mission to her family, they left it up to Rebekah: “Wilt thou go with this man? And she said, I will go.” Without knowing the servant or his master, she went with him, putting her destiny in God’s hands. She married Isaac and birthed Israel, the father of the twelve tribes. Rebekah was part of God’s plan, strategically placed in a family that began the nation of Israel. In your daily devotional, as a virtuous woman, you don’t have to be perfect; you need to be willing to move with God’s plan.

Be it Unto Me

Mary, the mother of Jesus, was a young virgin about to be married when Gabriel appeared and said, “Fear not.” God favored Mary and chose her to bring forth the Savior. Mary’s heart belonged to God, for she responded, “Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word.” God’s plan was bigger than Mary’s reputation or people’s opinions. Strong and resilient as a daughter of God, she submitted to God’s destiny. In today’s daily devotional, as a virtuous woman, even when it seems impossible, it’s possible with God.

You’re Part of God’s Will

In Thursday’s daily devotional, Eve, Sarah, Rebekah, and Mary were all virtuous women. As women on assignment, their roles in God’s plan were even bigger than they could imagine. Learn from Eve to obey God, from Sarah to wait on God, from Rebekah to walk in God’s plan, and from Mary to embrace God’s will. In today’s daily devotional, God still calls virtuous women to great works. You’re part of God’s plan.
