Taylor Swift Tops Billboard 200 and Hot 100 This Week

Billboard 200 and Hot 100 October 13 results show Taylor Swift at No. 1 on both charts, plus Miley Cyrus' historic album drop and Tinashe's first top 10.

Taylor Swift holds the top spot on both major Billboard charts this week, with her re-released album and a new single each landing at No. 1, according to Stereogum. The same tracking period saw Miley Cyrus post the biggest drop from a No. 1 debut in Billboard history, while Tinashe cracked the Billboard 200’s top 10 for the first time in her career.

The Numbers

  • Taylor Swift’s “Life Of A Showgirl” re-release, which adds four extra tracks, sits at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 this week, Stereogum reported.
  • Swift’s “Patient Zero” debuts at No. 1 on the Hot 100, marking her 16th No. 1 hit, according to Stereogum.
  • Miley Cyrus’ album “Bass Persuades” debuted at No. 1 last week with 61,000 album-equivalent units, then fell to No. 157 this week, the steepest decline ever recorded from a No. 1 debut, Stereogum reported.
  • Tinashe’s “Popstar” album debuts at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 for the chart dated Oct. 10, her first top 10 album, according to Billboard.
  • Tinashe’s single “Melatonin” debuts at No. 10 on the Hot Dance/Pop Songs chart, logging 697,000 official on-demand U.S. streams during Sept. 25-28 before climbing 40% to more than 980,000 streams during Oct. 2-5, per Billboard.
  • Girl in Red’s “We Fell in Love in October” pulled in 4.3 million official on-demand U.S. streams for the week ending Oct. 1, Billboard reported.

What The Numbers Mean

Swift’s double No. 1 week extends a run that has already made her one of the most dominant acts in chart history. Her 16th Hot 100 No. 1 with “Patient Zero” arrives in the same tracking window her reworked album with four bonus tracks takes the top of the Billboard 200.

Cyrus’ reversal tells a different story. An album that opened with 61,000 equivalent units, enough for a No. 1 debut, dropped to No. 157 a week later. Stereogum noted that decline is the largest ever recorded for a title coming off a No. 1 debut, a sign of how front-loaded streaming and sales activity can be for a splashy opening week.

Tinashe’s chart arrival follows a steadier climb. “Melatonin” nearly saturated its first streaming window and then grew by 40% the following week, a pattern Billboard pointed to as evidence the song is still building an audience rather than fading after its release.

Context

Swift’s streak of chart-topping singles and albums has become a recurring storyline on Billboard’s weekly reports. She previously tied the Beatles with 100 weeks at No. 1, a milestone covered in a prior Total Apex Entertainment report.

Tinashe’s “Popstar” success comes after years of steady output without a top 10 album, making this week’s Billboard 200 debut a career first. Girl in Red’s streaming growth for “We Fell in Love in October” also reflects a seasonal pattern, with the track’s early-October numbers in 2026 running 7.5% ahead of the same stretch in 2025, when it logged more than 3.7 million streams over Oct. 1-5 compared with more than 4 million this year, according to Billboard.

What’s Next

Billboard’s next chart update will show whether Swift’s “Patient Zero” holds the Hot 100’s top spot and whether “Life Of A Showgirl” stays atop the Billboard 200. Tinashe’s “Melatonin” streaming trajectory, which nearly doubled between its first two tracking windows, will also factor into whether the song keeps climbing on Hot Dance/Pop Songs in the coming weeks.
