The best action shows on Netflix cover a lot of ground, from a White House conspiracy thriller to an animated revenge saga set in feudal Japan. If you just finished your last binge and want fights, chases and real stakes, this list of the best action shows on Netflix has six series worth your time. TVLine recently ranked 10 of them in its own roundup, and these six stand out for different reasons.
Best action shows on Netflix: the six picks
The Night Agent
Gabriel Basso stars as Peter Sutherland, a low-level FBI agent who ends up in the middle of a conspiracy that reaches the highest levels of government. Luciane Buchanan plays Rose Larkin, the cybersecurity expert pulled in alongside him. Among the best action shows on Netflix, it moves fast, and it rarely lets the tension drop for more than a scene. Creator Shawn Ryan has said season 4 will be the last. Production began in Los Angeles in early May 2026, and Netflix has not announced a premiere date.
Cobra Kai
This sequel to “The Karate Kid” started on YouTube Red in May 2018 and moved to YouTube Premium for season 2 in April 2019. Netflix picked it up for season 3, which arrived in January 2021. Ralph Macchio and William Zabka return as Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence, and creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg built six seasons and 65 episodes out of an old rivalry. The finale aired Feb. 13, 2025, so the whole story is ready to watch, which makes it one of the best action shows on Netflix to binge from start to finish. Warrior Nun
Alba Baptista plays Ava, a young woman who wakes up in a morgue with a halo embedded in her back and joins an order of demon-fighting nuns. It mixes supernatural action with a lot of humor. Netflix canceled the series after two seasons, so it is a short watch. Fans who like their action with a little fantasy will find plenty to enjoy, and it earns its place among the best action shows on Netflix for viewers who want something lighter than a political thriller.
The Last Kingdom
Set in 9th-century England, the series follows Uhtred, played by Alexander Dreymon, a man born Saxon but raised by Danes. The show began on the BBC before it moved to Netflix, and its shield-wall battles are the main draw. If you like historical epics with swords and shifting loyalties, this is one of the best action shows on Netflix for a long weekend.
Blue Eye Samurai
This animated series, created by Amber Noizumi and Michael Green, debuted Nov. 3, 2023, with eight episodes. Maya Erskine voices Mizu, a swordfighter in the Edo period who is hunting the men she blames for her origins. Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa voices Master Eiji, the blind swordsmith. Netflix has scheduled season 2 for January 2027, with a third season set to conclude the story in 2028. Anime fans looking for more should check our fall 2026 anime streaming guide.
Vagabond
This South Korean drama stars Lee Seung-gi as a stuntman who investigates the crash of a passenger plane and uncovers a much larger plot. It is heavy on car chases and hand-to-hand fights. The season ends on a cliffhanger, and there is no second season, so go in knowing the story stops short. Still, the stunts alone make it a fair pick for anyone building a list of the best action shows on Netflix to try next.
