HBO has confirmed Nicolas Cage and Antonio Banderas as the stars of True Detective season 5. Cage will play Henry Logan and Banderas will play Rai García, according to TVLine.
Cage teased the role himself at New York Comic Con on Oct. 12, telling a crowd, “I think I might do a season of True Detective. That’s OK that I’m the first to announce that, right?” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Reports have described Logan as a New York detective, with the season set in Jamaica Bay, according to TVLine, though HBO has not officially confirmed those details.
The Project So Far
True Detective is an anthology series with a new cast and story each season. Issa López, who directed season 4 (Night Country), will return as showrunner for season 5.
