The Reality Fracture legendary characters now span three different corners of Magic: The Gathering, from tabletop boosters to a Commander precon to a digital-only Arena drop. The main Reality Fracture set launched Oct. 2, 2026, and Wizards of the Coast followed it up by bringing Alchemy: Reality Fracture to MTG Arena on Oct. 13, 2026, according to a Magic: The Gathering Arena announcement.
Across those releases, the planeswalker Jace Beleren sits at the center of the story, with a cast of new legends built around him and at least one older card finding fresh relevance in Reality Fracture decks.
Jace Beleren Anchors Reality Fracture
Jace Beleren is described as the planeswalker central to Reality Fracture, according to Polygon. The Alchemy: Reality Fracture digital set leans into that role directly. The 31-card release includes a spellbook built around Jace Beleren, billed as “the reality fracturer,” according to the Magic: The Gathering Arena announcement.
A different version of the character, The Theorist, Jace Beleren, is also among the legendary characters confirmed for Reality Fracture, alongside Jace, Reality Sculptor. The tabletop side of the set adds another take on the planeswalker, Jace, Multiverse Architect, who is featured in the Multiverse Reforged Commander precon that shipped with Reality Fracture, according to Polygon.
The New Legendary Characters In Alchemy
The Alchemy: Reality Fracture set introduces a roster of legendary characters beyond Jace. The Magic: The Gathering Arena announcement names Quintorius, Fate Splitter; Zimone, the Calculating; Killian, Spotlight Chaser; Rootha, Ardent Artisan; and Dina, Flesh Sower as part of the digital-only drop.
The same announcement lists Chandra, Chill of Compliance and Wan Shi Tong, Librarian among the additional legendary characters tied to Reality Fracture. All of these cards exist only in the digital Alchemy format, separate from the paper cards released with the main set on Oct. 2.
An Older Planeswalker Rides The Wave
Reality Fracture has also pulled attention back to a card from years earlier. Aminatou, the Fateshifter, a three-mana Esper planeswalker originally printed in 2018’s Subjective Reality Commander precon, has been featured in Reality Fracture strategies, according to Polygon.
Aminatou’s plus-one ability lets a player draw a card before placing another card from their hand on top of their library. Her minus-one ability exiles a permanent the player owns and immediately returns it to the battlefield. Her ultimate, a minus-six, sends nearly every nonland permanent on the table in a direction the player chooses.
That renewed interest showed up in the secondary market. The Double Masters 2022 printing of Aminatou, the Fateshifter hit $29.38 on Oct. 8, 2026, a jump of more than 400% over the preceding week, Polygon reported.
How The Pieces Fit Together
Between the paper set, the Multiverse Reforged Commander precon and the Alchemy digital release, Reality Fracture is spreading its legendary characters across multiple formats rather than concentrating them in a single product. Jace appears in three distinct forms across those releases, while the newer names introduced through Alchemy give Arena players cards that do not exist in paper Magic.
Players looking to try the new legends on Arena can do so starting Oct. 13, 2026, when Alchemy: Reality Fracture goes live. Tabletop players already have access to the Multiverse Reforged Commander precon and the main Reality Fracture set, both of which arrived Oct. 2, 2026.
