Apple’s first smart home display, called HomeView, is reportedly shipping in November 2026, according to CNET. The device is powered by an A18 chip and is designed to work as a Siri command center for homes built around Apple’s HomeKit platform.
CNET reported that HomeView is expected to ship in the middle of November, with Apple expected to formally announce the device at a “Welcome Home” smart home event on Tuesday. Apple has not issued an official product announcement as of this writing, so the device’s timing and some details remain tied to the CNET report.
Apple HomeView Release Date And Key Features
According to CNET, HomeView will come in two versions. One is a countertop model with a metal speaker base, and the other is a wall-mounted version with a flat, square base. Both run on the same A18 chip, the processor that CNET’s report ties to the device.
The core function of the Apple HomeView release date lineup centers on Siri. CNET reported that HomeView is built to serve as a command hub for Apple-powered smart homes, letting users control connected devices through voice commands tied to HomeKit.
Apple has not released specifications for screen size, resolution, camera capability, storage or connectivity for HomeView, according to the available reporting. Pricing for either version has also not been announced.
Where HomeView Fits In Apple’s Smart Home Lineup
HomeView is positioned to compete directly with Amazon’s Echo Show and the Google Nest Hub line, according to CNET, both of which already function as smart display hubs in their respective ecosystems. By building HomeView around HomeKit, Apple is extending a platform it has offered for years into a dedicated screen-based device for the first time.
The same “Welcome Home” event where HomeView is expected to debut is also set to feature two other new products, per CNET. Apple is expected to unveil a new Apple TV set-top box running an A19 chip, a step up in processing power from the A18 chip inside HomeView. The company is also expected to introduce an updated HomePod mini with an S10 chip, which CNET reported will extend voice control, music playback and other functionality.
What It Means For Apple Customers
If the reporting holds, HomeView would mark Apple’s entry into a smart display category that Amazon and Google have occupied for years. Customers who already use HomeKit accessories, such as smart locks, lights or thermostats, would gain a dedicated screen for managing those devices rather than relying solely on an iPhone or iPad app.
The two form factors, countertop and wall-mounted, suggest Apple is aiming HomeView at different rooms and use cases, similar to how competitors offer multiple screen sizes and mounting options. Without confirmed pricing, it is not yet clear how HomeView will be positioned against the Echo Show or Nest Hub on cost.
What’s Next
The clearest next milestone is Apple’s “Welcome Home” event on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026, where the company is expected to formally reveal HomeView alongside the new Apple TV box and updated HomePod mini, according to CNET. Shipping is expected in the middle of November 2026. Pricing, detailed specifications and a full list of supported HomeKit features have not been announced and would likely come from Apple directly at or after that event.
