Polaris released “Without You” on September 3, 2026, returning with its first new music in three years. The Australian metalcore band presents the single as a tribute shaped by the loss of guitarist Ryan Siew in 2023.

It is a return with grief at its center. The group’s release statement describes the song as an attempt to share loss and heartache while still making sense of what happened.

Polaris shares the meaning behind the song

The label’s official release announcement connects “Without You” directly to Siew’s death. It describes heavy riffs, melodic choruses, a guitar solo and a forceful closing breakdown.

That framing gives listeners a clear reason for the title. The band is remembering a person who helped shape its music, rather than presenting the single as a clean ending to its grief.

The official video looks back

The accompanying video combines historical imagery with the remaining members performing in an empty cathedral. The band’s official website features the video and links to the new single.

The choice to put past and present beside each other gives the release a reflective setting. Fans can watch the official upload while hearing the song, without relying on excerpts or secondhand descriptions.

Polaris has continued performing since Siew’s death. The release announcement places this new song after the band’s 2023 album “Fatalism,” which became a posthumous part of his musical legacy.

A December return to Good Things

The official Good Things Festival lineup confirms the band alongside Limp Bizkit, Simple Plan and Spiritbox. The scheduled dates are December 4 in Melbourne, December 5 in Sydney and December 6 in Brisbane.

Those appearances will put Polaris in front of festival audiences after the single’s release. The lineup confirms the booking; it does not establish which songs will be performed or a final set time.

A new song without erasing the past

“Without You” gives the band something new to share while keeping Siew’s contribution in view. The release statement supports that connection more clearly than speculation about when grief should end.

For Polaris listeners, the official song and video are the best starting points. The next chapter is being expressed through the music itself, with December’s festival appearances still ahead.
