The Marvel Comics Webtoon App will launch a new digital comics app on Nov. 16, 2026, giving readers access to more than 35,000 issues from Marvel’s history as the publisher retires its longtime Marvel Unlimited service. The new Marvel Comics Webtoon app has been rebuilt from the ground up to offer an improved reading experience, according to Polygon.

The move pairs Marvel’s comics library with Webtoon’s digital reading platform, a company already known for its work with publishers including Archie Comics, Dark Horse, DC and Ubisoft. For fans, it means a new home for Marvel’s back catalog and a different pricing structure than the subscription they have used for nearly two decades.

What The Marvel Comics Webtoon App Offers

The app will carry more than 35,000 issues spanning Marvel Comics history, according to Polygon. Marvel Unlimited subscribers will be able to import their existing library and reading history directly into the new app, easing the transition for longtime readers.

David Abdo, general manager of Marvel Comics and Franchise, said the partnership is built around demand for digital reading. “We know that there is a large audience of readers who are looking to experience comics digitally, and there is no richer library than Marvel Comics. We’re excited to partner with WEBTOON, industry leaders in the space, to create a new app that can continue to grow and evolve with the way readers discover and experience comics,” Abdo said, quoted by Comicbook.

Yongsoo Kim, president of Webtoon Entertainment, framed the launch as a combined effort. “The Marvel Comics app represents a new chapter in helping fans connect with the stories they love. By combining WEBTOON’s expertise in building digital comics platforms with Marvel’s unparalleled storytelling legacy, we’re making it easier for longtime fans and new readers alike to explore Marvel’s universe and discover their next favorite story,” Kim said, quoted by Comicbook.

Price, Editions And Availability

The base subscription tier costs $9.99 a month or $69.99 a year, with new issues becoming available three months after their print release. An Ultimate tier costs $12.49 a month or $99.99 a year and offers new issues as early as one month after print. Webtoon is also offering a limited-time Founder Member rate of $59.99 for the first year of the Ultimate annual plan.

That offer is available through pre-registration at marvel.webtoon.com and in person at New York Comic Con 2026. Current Marvel Unlimited subscribers will need to start a fresh subscription with Webtoon, since existing payment information will not carry over. Active Marvel Unlimited subscriptions will receive an automated, prorated refund for any unused subscription term on or around Nov. 16, according to Polygon.

How It Compares With Marvel Unlimited

Marvel Unlimited has served readers for nearly 19 years. That service will stop adding new content on Dec. 7, 2026, and the app will be removed entirely on Dec. 28, 2026, per Polygon. The new Marvel Comics Webtoon app replaces it with a rebuilt interface and a tiered pricing model rather than the single subscription price Marvel Unlimited offered.

The shift also connects to a wider corporate relationship. Walt Disney Corporation acquired a 2% stake in Webtoon in September 2025, with plans to bring Marvel, Star Wars, Disney, Pixar and 20th Century Studios comics to the platform. Webtoon is a South Korea-based company that launched globally in 2014 and is owned by Naver Corporation.

What’s Next

Webtoon and Marvel plan to add Disney, Pixar and 20th Century Studios comics content to the Marvel Comics app in the coming months, following the Nov. 16 launch. Readers interested in the Founder Member pricing can pre-register now at marvel.webtoon.com or sign up in person at New York Comic Con 2026, and Marvel Unlimited subscribers should watch for their prorated refund around the app’s launch date.

Webtoon’s broader push into publisher partnerships has drawn attention elsewhere in the industry, including its anime adaptation deal with Crunchyroll and Hayate and recent leadership changes at parent company Naver.
