Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days sale runs Tuesday, Oct. 6, and Wednesday, Oct. 7, for Prime members in the U.S. and 21 other countries, the company announced. The 48-hour event starts at 12:01 a.m. PT (3:01 a.m. ET) on Oct. 6 and ends at 11:59 p.m. PT on Oct. 7, which is 2:59 a.m. ET on Oct. 8.

Some outlets initially reported different dates, but Amazon’s own announcement confirms Oct. 6-7. Dates can vary in other countries.

When Prime Big Deal Days deals drop

Amazon says it will release “Today’s Big Deals” three times a day, at midnight, 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. PT. These limited-time offers last until they sell out. Early deals are already live, and Mashable has tracked the start times and early discounts.

What’s on sale

Amazon says Prime Big Deal Days covers more than 35 product categories. Among the deals it has highlighted:

  • Up to 60 percent off an Echo Dot two-pack and a Ring Battery Doorbell Plus bundle
  • Up to 40 percent off select Ninja, Dyson and iRobot floor care
  • Up to 30 percent off Google, ecobee and Honeywell thermostats
  • Discounts on Sony TVs, Nikon and Canon cameras, Breville espresso machines and toys from Lego, Hasbro and Mattel

Fashion and beauty brands taking part include UGG, Crocs, Levi’s, Charlotte Tilbury and La Roche-Posay, according to Amazon’s deals preview. Not every product from a featured brand is discounted.

Do you need Prime?

Yes. Prime Big Deal Days discounts are for Prime members. A standard membership costs $14.99 a month or $139 a year. Prime for Young Adults, for ages 18 to 24, costs $7.49 a month or $69 a year after a six-month trial. Prime Access, for people who receive qualifying government assistance, costs $6.99 a month.

Prime members also get free same-day or next-day delivery in more than 10,000 cities and towns, Amazon says, with even faster options in some areas.

Shopping tips

Popular items can sell out before the sale officially begins, so it can pay to watch early deals, NBC News Select advised. A price-tracking tool can show whether a discount is real, and a deal only saves money if you would have bought the item anyway.

Amazon first held its October sale in 2022 as the Prime Early Access Sale and renamed it Prime Big Deal Days in 2023. It serves as a fall counterpart to the summer Prime Day.
