What we know about the Kamen Rider W figure
The collectible is built around the character’s signature transformation gear. It features a newly developed Double Mask head with a magnetically activated LED eye-light system that offers four distinct illumination modes, letting collectors recreate the telepathic communication sequences and combat moments from the original series, CBR reported.
The figure also includes the Doubledriver Henshin Belt, which Hot Toys says “features memory slots compatible with the Gaia Memories.” The set comes with a Doubledriver storage box containing an inactive-state belt buckle that can be swapped with an active-state buckle, plus all six core Gaia Memories: Cyclone, Heat, Luna, Joker, Metal and Trigger.
Collectors who opt for the special edition receive all standard accessories plus a translucent green-and-purple wind effect piece that recreates the character’s signature whirlwind finishing moves.
Why it matters
Kamen Rider W is the 24th series in the long-running Kamen Rider franchise. The 2009 show follows private detective Shotaro Hidari and the mysterious Philip, who combine their powers to protect the fictional Fuuto City from monstrous villains called Dopants.
Hot Toys is known for highly detailed collectibles tied to major franchises, including previous figures based on One Piece and Marvel’s Spider-Man. A dedicated Kamen Rider W release signals continued demand for tokusatsu collectibles nearly two decades after the show first aired.
What’s next
Fans interested in the figure can place a reservation now through Sideshow’s official site. Hot Toys has not announced a firm release window or retail price for either the standard or special edition as of the reservation opening.
