Wit Studio

Wit built its reputation on the first three seasons of "Attack on Titan" before the final season moved to MAPPA, a transition that could have sunk a smaller studio's identity entirely. Instead, Wit found its next signature hit in "Spy x Family," a completely different tonal register — breezy spy-comedy rather than apocalyptic horror — that proved the studio's technical chops weren't tied to one franchise's aesthetic.

Our take is that Wit's pivot is the healthiest version of an anime studio surviving IP loss: rather than chasing another "Titan"-shaped project to prove a point, it built a new flagship from different material and let that succeed on its own terms. What's worth watching is whether Wit can keep landing mid-tier original and adapted hits consistently, since "Spy x Family"'s success still leaves the studio more dependent on a single active franchise than its output a decade ago suggested it would be.
