Lloromannic Funko Pop: Cute $120 NYCC backpack set revealed

The Lloromannic Funko Pop set pairs Sanrio's Berry and Cherry with a $120 Loungefly backpack at NYCC, Oct. 8-11. Here's how to get it, online drawing included.

Sanrio’s demon duo Berry and Cherry, known together as Lloromannic, will headline a $120 Lloromannic Funko Pop and Loungefly backpack set at New York Comic Con, which runs Oct. 8-11 at the Javits Center in New York. Loungefly announced the convention exclusive in a press release shared with CBR on Oct. 1.

CBR noted that the characters, billed as Cinnamoroll’s demon rivals, are only now making their way to the United States, which makes the drop a notable one for American Sanrio collectors.

Who are Lloromannic?

Berry and Cherry first appeared in 2007 as part of the world of Cinnamoroll, the puppy character with long ears. Their group name, Lloromannic, is Cinnamoroll spelled backward, and the pair are said to come from a world on the other side of a magical mirror, License Global reported.

The Funko set follows another U.S. debut for the duo. In late August, Build-A-Bear Workshop added Lloromannic plush to its Sanrio Halloween collection in the U.S., the U.K., Ireland and Canada, calling it the first time a retailer had offered the characters as full-size plush in those countries. That collection also includes Spooky Webs Cinnamoroll and Starry Sky Hello Kitty plush. Build-A-Bear chief brand officer Kim Utlaut said the release gave “longtime fans and collectors something they’ve been eagerly anticipating.”

Lloromannic Funko Pop set: price and release details

  • Product: NYCC Exclusive Sanrio Lloromannic Funko Pop & Bag set
  • Price: $120
  • What’s included: A Loungefly mini backpack and fun-size Funko Pop figures of Berry and Cherry
  • Where: At NYCC and online
  • Online drawing: Entries open Oct. 5 and close Oct. 7
  • Online release: Leftover stock goes on sale the morning of Oct. 8 on the Funko and Loungefly websites

Shoppers chosen in the pre-authorization drawing are charged automatically for the items they requested, according to CBR.

Collectors who only want the figures have a second option. Funko will sell a Pop Legendary LE: Sanrio – Berry & Cherry release for $40, but that version is available only at Funko’s booth on the convention floor.

What the Berry and Cherry figures look like

The Lloromannic Funko Pop figures are fun-size, roughly 3 to 3.5 inches tall, a bit shorter than a standard 4-inch Pop. Berry has curled yellow horns and small wings, while Cherry is pink and wears a black top hat.

Each Lloromannic Funko Pop figure gets its own clip-on coin bag charm with a clear front, so the pair can ride on either side of the backpack. When the figures are removed, a printed silhouette of each character stays visible inside the charm, CBR reported.

Inside the Loungefly backpack

The mini backpack is mostly black with pink trim, including ruffled pockets and straps, a pink zipper and a top handle shaped like an oversized bow. A round clear window on the front pocket shows Berry and Cherry surrounded by pink and black confetti, framed by bat wings and topped with a striped bow and a heart-eyed skull.

The lining continues the spooky theme with spiderwebs, bats and stars. The bag measures 9 inches wide, 10.5 inches tall and 4.5 inches deep and has adjustable shoulder straps.

Why NYCC collectors should plan ahead

Because the $40 Legendary release is sold only at Funko’s booth, fans who can’t attend will need to try for the $120 bundle online through the drawing or the Oct. 8 restock.
