ABC will air an episode of High Potential immediately following Super Bowl LXI on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2027, with the episode also streaming simultaneously on Disney+. The slot marks a major showcase for the network’s highest-rated drama, placing it in the premium lead-out position right after the biggest game of the year.
ABC announced the plan during Monday Night Football on Oct. 13, 2026, with star Kaitlin Olson appearing in a promotional spot. High Potential finished the 2025-2026 season as the No. 1 show among adults 18-49 with a 3.35 rating and the No. 3 show overall in total viewers, drawing 16 million cross-platform viewers over 35 days, according to the trade outlets.
High Potential Super Bowl Showcase: What’s Confirmed
The Feb. 14 episode will be Part 1 of a two-part story arc, ending on a cliffhanger. Part 2 airs in High Potential’s regular Tuesday time slot the following week.
This will be the first time High Potential streams on Disney+ outside of the bundle. The series normally airs on Hulu, so the Disney+ simulcast expands the audience for the Super Bowl episode.
High Potential is ABC’s most popular show. The last time ABC carried the Super Bowl was in 2006, when Grey’s Anatomy aired a two-part episode after the game and drew 38.1 million viewers.
What Fans Should Know About The Series
High Potential follows a woman with an exceptional mind who works as a consultant with the LAPD, solving criminal cases. Kaitlin Olson stars as Morgan, leading a cast that includes Daniel Sunjata as Karadec, Javicia Leslie as Daphne, Deniz Akdeniz as Lev “Oz” Ozdil, Amirah J as Ava, Matthew Lamb as Elliot and Judy Reyes as Selena.
Drew Goddard created the series, which is based on the French series Haut Potentiel Intellectuel. 20th Television produces it.
Season 3 Timing And What’s Next
Season 3 will premiere separately from the Super Bowl episode, likely in January 2027, with new episodes airing Tuesdays on ABC and streaming the next day on Hulu. The post-Super Bowl two-parter is a special event within the season, not the premiere.
ABC will confirm the Part 2 air time closer to the broadcast. Season 3 debuts will be announced separately.
