Team Liquid Alienware shocked everyone with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Karmine Corp. Their win has earned them a rematch against the LCK second seed, T1, at MSI. In their previous meeting, T1 emerged victorious, but TL were not far away in the second game. TL will have a second opportunity to take down T1 and qualify for the MSI Bracket Stage.

Current MSI Records

T1 have only played two series. They are currently undefeated at MSI, having won 3-0 against both TL and Karmine Corp. After losing their first series to T1, TL is on a six-game winning streak.

Oner and Keria Versus Josedeodo and CoreJJ

In the previous meeting between the two teams, the T1 Jungle and Support outperformed their counterparts. Oner kept winning the Smite battle against Josedeodo. Since that series, Josedeodo and CoreJJ have been vital to TL’s success. They ran the show against both Relove Deep Cross Gaming and Karmine Corp. They will have a more difficult challenge in this series. If they can match up to Oner and Keria, TL might have a route to the Bracket Stage.

Learning Their Lessons

TL had a significant gold lead in the second game against T1. They were 6k gold up, but allowed T1 back into the game. Their hesitancy to challenge T1 cost them. Oftentimes, T1 bluff that they are stronger than they actually are. TL will need to challenge them on those plays, especially if they have the gold lead. There is no guarantee that T1 will give TL the chances they gave in the first series.

TL still needs to respect T1’s skills, but they can not afford to respect them too much. They will also need to pay attention to T1’s Baron setups. Almost no team in the world plays around Baron the way T1 does. TL have the footage to study and prepare for the series.

Is Targeting Doran a Mistake

In the past two series, both Karmine Corp and TL have targeted Doran. It has netted them a lead in the top lane, but rarely changes the outcome of the game. Doran is still impactful despite being behind. He always finds a way to deliver in teamfights. Morgan has shown a high level at MSI so far. He will most likely have a lead against Doran, considering T1 invests most of their resources in the bot lane. However, can TL afford to allow T1 the freedom in that lane? Peyz and Keria are both players who can take over games with resources. TL will need to figure out where to allocate resources.

T1 3-0 Team Liquid Alienware

While TL won 3-0 yesterday, there is not enough to show they will win a game against T1. They had mistakes against Karmine Corp, which allowed the LEC back into game two. You can not make those same mistakes against T1. They did it before; T1 punished them for it multiple times. The reason for TL’s crushing victory against Karmine Corp was that the LEC second seed heavily underperformed. With T1 getting more time in the tournament, that will inevitably improve. T1 will always be prone to mistakes, but how many will they afford TL in this series?

A Bracket Stage Berth

The winner of the series will advance to the MSI Bracket Stage. There, they will meet Bilibili Gaming in the first round. The loser will see their tournament run end. Will T1 complete the perfect Play-Ins run, or will TL shock the world one more time?
