Europe and North America always want to see their teams face off at international tournaments. They want the bragging rights. The last time we had EU versus NA, G2 Esports beat FlyQuest 2-1. Karmine Corp and Team Liquid Alienware face off at MSI for a chance to play against T1. The last time these two teams met was at First Stand 2025. TL were the victors on that occasion.

Even Records

Both teams come into the MSI matchup with the same record at the international event. They both beat Relove Deep Cross Gaming 3-0, and lost 3-0 to T1. They had similar losses to T1. Both had leads in the second game, but allowed T1 to recover. If the results are anything to go off of, they should have a close series against each other.

Kyeahoo Versus Quid

Both mid laners have had solid performances so far at MSI. They rarely made mistakes in their team’s losses. Quid had the stopwatch moment, but that did not have the impact many think it did. The mid laner that gets the advantage in the lane can translate their lead to the rest of the map.

Instability in Bot Lane

T1 exposed both teams’ bot lanes during their series against them. Peyz and Keria found any weaknesses they could and made them look silly at times during the laning phase. They were often the reason for the two Western teams’ struggles against T1. The bot lane that gets the upper hand in the laning phase may have a dramatic impact on the outcome. Overall, the two supports had impactful games in the laning phase and led their teams against DCG. Having a lead in the bot lane usually allows the support to roam. With picks like Camille, Bard, and Pyke on the table, roaming is essential to their playstyle.

Fighting For Pride

There is always more to play for when Europe and North America meet in international tournaments. The team that wins always garners bragging rights for their region. Many believe Europe is the stronger region this year. As a result, KC will have more pressure on them in this series. The bragging rights may not last with a potential matchup between G2 Esports and Lyon later at MSI.

Both teams will also want a rematch with T1. Even if neither team can get past the LCK second seed, they want another chance. The more times they get to prove themselves on the international stage, the better. Spawn, TL’s head coach, mentioned that getting more chances against top teams shows you what you need to work on.

Karmine Corp 3-2 Team Liquid Alienware

So far, no series has gone further than three games. In the only competitive series, T1 has always found a way to win each game. KC and TL should be competitive with each other, if the previous matches are anything to go by. TL, overall, has looked more consistent in their performances, especially against T1. That, on paper, should give them the advantage, but we still favor KC. The ceiling for this roster is higher, and KC’s bot lane should not end up struggling nearly as much in this series.

A Rematch against T1

The loser of the series will see their MSI journey come to an end. They will become the second team eliminated after TL defeated DCG. The winner will get a rematch against the LCK second seed, T1. Both teams will want a chance to qualify for the Bracket Stage. On top of that, the winner will garner bragging rights for their region until the next meeting between Europe and North America.
