MSI 2026 Match Review – Blibili Gaming Versus LYON: LYON Struggle to Close Out in Vital Moments
After LYON beat FURIA in their opening MSI series, they sought improvement against Bilibili Gaming. They found it against the LPL first seed, but it was not enough. LYON had chances to win every game during this series. However, one fight in each cost them a victory. They will drop to the Lower Bracket against Team Secret Whales. Bilibili Gaming advanced to the Upper Bracket Final to take on Hanwha Life Esports.

Early Action
Inspired goes for a level three gank on Bin to set up the first blood. Unfortunately for LYON, BLG’s bot lane wins the 2v2 with two kills to one. Despite losing the first battle, LYON’s bot lane does not give up and wins the next 2v2. Dhokla dies again to a three-player gank, but Isles arrives to trade the kill back. After a breakneck pace, the game slows down. LYON use their Grubs and Berserker’s Tristana to take the first two towers.
A Pick Into Baron
Knight’s Realm Warp with XUN earns a kill on Dhokla. With LYON down a member and not in position, they allow BLG to take the Baron. LYON shuts down the Baron thanks to Saint’s Seismic Shove on Viper. The gold is even at 27 minutes after LYON picks up another kill on ON. The teams stand off on the Drake, and LYON gets the Infernal Soul point unscathed.
BLG Need One Moment
ON finds the angle to kick off a mid lane fight. Berserker disengages, but Dhokla does not. With the player advantage, BLG run over the rest of LYON and end the first game.

BLG’s Turn to Kick off the Early Game
XUN targets Saint early with a gank. He nearly dies after Saint’s Flash and Inspired arrives. But ON keeps him alive, kills Saint, and Isles follows as well. Shortly after, Bin earns a solo kill on Dhokla. LYON gets their first kill of the game on BLG’s support. XUN steals the Drake after Inspired’s Impale. The snowball starts as Knight earns two more kills.
LYON Fights Back
Dhokla teleports to the bot lane. They bring all five members to a 5v5 fight. They win it with four kills to two. It should have been only one kill, but Saint died to the tower shot. LYON tries to collapse on BLG at the Rift Herald. The combination of Naafiri and Orianna shuts LYON down. Three of the kills go to XUN. The gold lead reverts to 3k for BLG. For the second time in the game, LYON fights back, and the gold is even.
The Competitive Battle Continues
Inspired dies in the mid lane, and BLG forces the Baron. The call is a mistake as LYON contests. The GNAR from Bin helps Dhokla and Saint get close to the rest of his team. BLG slams the door on LYON at the Cloud Soul point fight. They take the objective and the Baron. LYON attempts to remove some of the Baron buffs from the map, but they fail. BLG earns the ace and breaks open the map. LYON goes for one more desperation fight, but they all fall.

Saint Solo Kills Knight
After Isles’ roam burns Knight’s Flash, Saint has the advantage. He earns the solo kill on Knight. Without his Flash, XUN and ON trade the kill back. Viper and ON survive the dive for long enough that Knight arrives. LYON commit four players for one kill, while BLG gets two. At the same time, XUN takes the Grubs. Bin wins in isolation, while the teams trade kills. He has an individual gold lead of 2k at 17 minutes. Inspired uses his Paranoia to kill Bin alongside Saint and Berserker. Dhokla dies on the opposite side of the map.
Hiding in the Bush
Three members of LYON wait in a bush near the Baron. They kill Xun and turn their attention to the objective. BLG does not allow the LCS team to take the Baron, despite the player advantage. LYON pick off ON at the mid tower, but at the same time XUN and Viper kill the Baron. LYON finds more picks, but Viper breaks the top inhibitor.
A Baron Force Pays Off
LYON moves towards the Baron after forcing BLG off the map. BLG contests, but Inspired lands the Smite. The teams trade kills and Guardian Angels. When the dust settles, LYON had three kills to two. BLG dissect LYON at the Ocean Soul fight. LYON may get the objective, but they lose the series.

MSI 2026: Series Ratings

Bilibili Gaming
Bin – 6.3
Bin has yet to show the dominant performance that he has had this year. He controlled the laning phase in game three, but did little with his lead. He gave away kills, and that made the game close.
XUN – 7.0
XUN did not stop going in this series. There were some moments where he could have waited a bit longer for his team. Once he had the coordination with Knight or ON, they crushed the fights.
Knight – 8.0 (Total Apex Player of the Series)
Knight is once again the point of difference for this BLG roster. Even when LYON targeted him, or he died solo to Saint, he remains relevant. His Shockwaves in game two, alongside XUN, created opportunities for BLG.
Viper – 7.0
Another quietly strong series from Viper. With BLG often playing away from him, he does not get the resource investment. He does what the team needs from him in vital moments.
ON – 6.0
ON had a surprisingly weak performance on Camille. Many of his engagements missed, and he had bad deaths. He redeemed himself for the rest of the series, but did not have exceptional performances.
LYON
Dhokla – 4.3
Dhokla was better against Bilibili Gaming than against FURIA. However, it was his mistake with Berserker that cost LYON the first game. He had little to do as Zaahen, laning against Renekton with no resources.
Inspired – 6.3
Inspired had a shift in the series. He was more proactive than usual. The level three gank on Bin gave LYON some momentum. However, he needed to up the tempo more. Often, after gaining advantages, Inspired chose to play safe and farm, instead of looking for more plays.
Saint – 5.3
Saint had a quiet series. As with most mid laners at MSI, the action often happened away from him. We needed to see more proactive plays in-game to secure the advantage for LYON.
Berserker – 5.7
Berserker came out swinging in the series with Tristana. With three early kills, he had a big advantage. With LYON not pushing the envelope, his lead never grew. That left one fight to decide the game, and he flinched. That was the case throughout the series. Berserker was in a good spot, but he struggled in the pivotal teamfights.
Isles – 4.3
Isles is not made for aggressive supports like Camille and Pyke. He played each one once in the past two series and did not look comfortable. He was better in the other two games, but his champion pool for MSI is looking shaky.
