Arthur Miller’s “Death of a Salesman” was the clear winner of the night with six Tony Awards. The plays “Schmigadoon!,” “The Lost Boys” and “Ragtime” each received four.

The play “Schmigadoon” is a comedy that is produced by former Saturday Night Live big cheese Lorne Michaels. It won best musical, best score, best book, and best orchestrations. It is adapted from the Apple+ series of the same name, a parody of classic Broadway shows such as “Brigadoon,” “The Music Man,” and “Carousel” to tell a new story about love and acceptance, with many musical performances.

During his acceptance speech, Michaels said, “Sometimes singing, dancing, a lot of jokes, and a happy ending is really all you need.”

Conclusion

There were many more awards presented on this special night. There are some good ideas here for plays to see if you go to Manhattan. That is the best thing about the Tony Awards. However, the awards ceremony itself is also highly entertaining. P!nk was an odd choice to host the Tony Awards, but she did a good job.
