The Daily Drop — Your Dose of Celebs & Pop Culture: April 16, 2026
From trends to tea—we’ve got you covered!
Thursday’s daily Drop drags itself into the room like someone who woke up thinking it was Saturday, only to realize the universe is laughing directly in their face. Thursdays pretend to be the warm-up act for the weekend, but really, they are just Wednesdays wearing a slightly cleaner shirt and hoping no one notices the existential dread underneath.
Hollywood, meanwhile, rolled out of bed today and said, “Let’s get weird, let’s get loud, and let’s remind everyone that celebrities are just people with better lighting and worse impulse control.”
Between Shannon Elizabeth deciding to unleash a “more sexy side” on OnlyFans, Joe Rogan throwing his weight behind Spencer Pratt’s run for L.A. mayor, and Elizabeth Banks calling out white women who voted for Trump, today’s Drop is messy, political, thirsty, and deeply human.
Shannon Elizabeth Joins OnlyFans To Show Off A “More Sexy Side”

Shannon Elizabeth, forever etched into pop culture as Nadia from “American Pie,” is stepping into a new chapter on her own terms. According to People, Elizabeth says she’s launching an OnlyFans account to reclaim her narrative after decades of Hollywood shaping her image for her. “This new chapter is about changing that, showing off a more sexy side no one has seen, and being closer to my fans,” she told the outlet. “I’m choosing OnlyFans because it allows me to connect directly with my audience, create on my own terms, and just be free.”
Elizabeth’s page officially opens today, and she seems genuinely excited to show fans a version of herself that isn’t filtered through studio executives or early 2000s stereotypes. Whether the internet is ready for it is another story entirely, but she’s not waiting for permission.
Joe Rogan Backs Spencer Pratt’s L.A. Mayor Campaign

In a plot twist no one had on their 2026 bingo card, Joe Rogan has publicly backed Spencer Pratt’s campaign for Los Angeles mayor. In a recent episode of Rogan’s podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience,” Pratt opened up about his reasoning for his mayoral campaign. Rogan went on to say, “Listen, man, I’m voting for you.” However, Rogan left California for Texas back in 2020, so he clarified, “[Well] I can’t vote for you, but I’m rooting for you. I mean, if I lived in Los Angeles, no question whatsoever, I would vote for you.”
Rogan didn’t stop there. He reportedly said that Pratt’s years of reality TV experience give him “a unique understanding of human behavior,” which is certainly one way to describe “The Hills.” Whether this endorsement helps or hurts Pratt’s campaign remains to be seen, but it definitely makes the race more chaotic, and honestly, that feels on brand for Los Angeles.
Elizabeth Banks Blasts “White Ladies” Who Voted For Trump

Elizabeth Banks is not mincing words. In a new interview with Variety, Banks said she “doesn’t understand the 53 percent of white ladies who voted for Trump” and urged women to “become revolutionaries” instead of supporting what she described as fascist politics.
Banks, who has long been outspoken about political issues, said she wants more women to channel the spirit of Effie Trinket from “The Hunger Games” and “oppose systems that harm vulnerable communities.” Her comments have already sparked heated debate online, but Banks seems unfazed, doubling down on her belief that women must take a more active role in shaping the political future.

Catch You in the Next Drop
Thursday didn’t knock us out, but it definitely reminded us that the week is still stretching, yawning, and deciding what kind of chaos it wants to unleash next. Today’s stories gave us the full emotional spectrum. An actress reclaiming her image. A podcast titan endorsing a reality TV star for political office. A filmmaker calling out an entire demographic of voters.
Tomorrow is lurking just outside the door, ready to bring whatever fresh nonsense it has planned. April is not here to let anyone coast.
Drink some water. Stretch your shoulders. Ignore any email that starts with “quick question.” The next Drop lands tomorrow, and if today is any indication, we are in for another ride.
