Sean “Diddy” Combs has been formally sanctioned by officials at the Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix in New Jersey for disciplinary violations, resulting in the loss of 41 days of good conduct time. The penalty pushes his projected release date to March 2, 2028, according to Bureau of Prisons records.

The 56-year-old music mogul is currently serving a 50-month sentence after being convicted in July 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of the more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy.

What the Records Show

The disciplinary action stems from a series of infractions documented in Combs’ prison record. According to Jose Rojas, a union secretary representing Bureau of Prisons employees who obtained the records, Combs was cited for fighting on July 31 and September 30, 2025, with another major violation recorded on October 1. He also reportedly committed minor phone-related violations on July 7 and September 19, 2025.

In addition to losing 41 days of good time credit, Combs lost 400 days of commissary privileges, meaning he cannot purchase extra food items or personal supplies from the prison store for more than a year.

The release date change is significant because it reverses an earlier trajectory. Combs’ release date had been moved up to January 21, 2028, before the disciplinary penalties pushed it back to March 2, 2028 . The Bureau of Prisons has declined to explain the specific reason for the change, citing privacy and security policies.

Separate Reports of Special Treatment

The confirmed disciplinary action comes amid a swirl of unconfirmed reports about Combs’ life behind bars. NBC News reported last month that Combs allegedly enjoyed unusual privileges at the low-security facility, including access to a contraband cellphone, a jailbroken tablet, and Hennessy cognac. Four inmates told NBC that Combs paid for services including cooking, cleaning, and Chinese-style massages.

After those reports surfaced, Combs was reportedly moved to the special housing unit, commonly known as solitary confinement, while officials investigated.

A representative for Combs pushed back on the coverage. “The continued scrutiny of every mundane detail of Sean Combs’s life in prison has reached the point where the media characterizes ordinary prison life as news,” the spokesperson said. “The only real news is that Sean continues to serve his sentence while awaiting the court’s decision on his appeal.”

Hospitalization and Legal Developments

Combs was briefly hospitalized over the weekend after suffering a head injury at Fort Dix. He was transported to a local hospital early Saturday morning and returned before 7 a.m., according to reports. He was conscious and speaking during the incident. The cause of the injury remains unclear.

Separately, a New York judge ordered Combs to pay NBCUniversal $477,700.50 in attorneys’ fees after the media company successfully defended itself against his defamation lawsuit over the documentary “Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy.” Combs had filed the lawsuit seeking $100 million in damages, alleging the documentary advanced a false narrative about his involvement in the deaths of The Notorious B.I.G. and Kim Porter.

The court dismissed the lawsuit in April under New York’s anti-SLAPP statute, finding that NBC had followed appropriate journalistic standards. NBCUniversal initially sought $990,292 in legal fees, but the court reduced the amount by more than $512,000 after finding portions of the billing excessive.

What’s Next

Combs remains in custody at Fort Dix as he awaits a decision on his appeal. His legal team has argued that his 50-month sentence was improperly influenced by acquitted conduct and should be overturned. Oral arguments before the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals were held in April 2026, and no ruling has been issued yet.

For now, his projected release date stands at March 2, 2028.
