Daily Devotional Monday Motivation | June 8, 2026

In daily devotional, a man and woman are studying the scriptures together.

Happy Monday! It’s time for your daily devotional. Good leaders prepare people for success. No leader wants someone totally dependent on their presence to do the job. Parents rear children to be independent one day; managers train people to develop their skills, and although Jesus’ disciples had been dependent on Him, He taught them they could go directly to the Father. In today’s daily devotional, Jesus broke down the wall of separation between you and God, so that you may come boldly to the throne of grace.

Joy Would Be Restored

In John 16:20, Jesus told His disciples that they would be sorrowful one day, but their joy would be restored. When someone you’ve depended on is no longer there, you may struggle with how you’ll move forward. Jesus spent three years teaching His disciples, showing them miracles, signs, and wonders. He even sent them forth to minister, giving them power to cast out devils and heal sickness and disease.

Jesus was training them to do what they saw Him do by demonstrating kingdom authority and faith in God. They didn’t understand everything then, but later, they would know the significance of His actions. In your daily devotional, trust that time spent with God, through the Word, prayer, and fellowship, enables you to appreciate everything Christ did to make it possible.

Asking in Jesus’ Name

Jesus taught His disciples a new day was coming. In verse 16, He says, “And in that day ye shall ask me nothing.” Before then, they asked Jesus everything, but He tells them there’ll be a shift: “Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.” Jesus tells His disciples that then, when they pray, they’ll pray to the Father, asking in Jesus’ name.

Jesus died so you could have a relationship with the Father. You’ve been made one with Him, as Jesus said He and His Father are one. Now that you’ve been redeemed, you are an heir of God and a co-heir with Christ. In this daily devotional, God has put all things under Christ’s feet, and He is the Head of all things to the church. Therefore, you have the right to make your requests in Jesus’ name.

Your Prayer is Answered

When you pray according to God’s will, you have assurance that your prayer is answered. For God looks after His word to perform it, and it does not return void. Minister Kenneth E. Hagin would say, “Faith begins where the will of God is known.” How do you know you’re praying in God’s will? You’ll have scripture to back you up.

When you believe in the Son of God, John says in 1 John 5:14 that “this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us.” When you know God hears you, you know you have the petitions that you desire of Him. In your daily devotional, say this out loud: “I know God hears, accepts, and answers my prayers.”

Confident Jesus is Always With You

In Monday’s daily devotional, Jesus wasn’t abandoning His disciples, for He said they’d see Him again. Jesus promises not to leave or forsake you. You can be confident that He is always with you, and you have a personal relationship with Him. Paul prays in Ephesians 3:17-19 that Christ may dwell in your heart by faith and that you’ll know the love of Christ and be filled with all the fullness of God. In today’s daily devotional, come boldly to God’s throne of grace.
