“Bachelorette Weekend” is nearing a straight-to-series order at Hulu, with Kylie Jenner attached to star and executive produce. Deadline reported Oct. 5 that negotiations were still being finalized. A Hulu representative declined to comment.
The mystery behind “Bachelorette Weekend”
Jenner plays a bride whose murder during a weekend celebration leaves her friends under suspicion. The story retraces the events preceding her death. The project would give Jenner her first major scripted acting role.
The working title comes from an unpublished novel by Flora Collins. Lauren Oliver created the adaptation, TheWrap reported.
Four executive producers
Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Oliver and Aaron Kaplan are executive producing, according to Deadline. Jaiden Kaplan is a co-executive producer. Kapital Entertainment and 20th Television are the studios behind the project.
The script first reached Kardashian, who recommended Jenner for the lead. Kardashian’s first-look agreement with 20th Television helped bring the project to Hulu.
Jenner previously appeared in Charli XCX’s “The Moment.” Kardashian has also moved into scripted television with “All’s Fair.” The cited casting reports do not give a premiere date or an episode count for the new thriller.
