“The Maid of Orleans” will star Maude Apatow and Mike Faist, with filming beginning this week, Deadline reported Oct. 5. Sarah Elizabeth Mintz wrote the screenplay and will direct. Astute Films is providing financing.
What “The Maid of Orleans” follows
The film centers on a young woman working as an assistant to a gifted, difficult director staging “Joan of Arc” in France. The announcement does not specify which character each actor will play.
Mintz is following her debut feature, “Good Girl Jane.” She will also produce the new movie alongside Shuli Harel and Jeff David.
The stars’ recent projects
Apatow is known for playing Lexi Howard in “Euphoria.” Her directing debut, “Poetic License,” is set for release next spring through Sony Pictures Classics, according to Deadline.
Faist recently appeared in Netflix’s “East of Eden” miniseries with Florence Pugh and Christopher Abbott. The casting report does not announce a release date for the new film.
