Adam Levine added Dakota Cohen to his team on “The Voice” after her rendition of Black Sabbath’s “Changes” prompted two coaches to turn their chairs. The 25-year-old singer performed during the Oct. 5 blind auditions in season 30.
Adam Levine wins Cohen’s choice
Levine and Riley Green both wanted Cohen, according to Billboard’s audition report. Levine praised her selection and compared her voice with Miley Cyrus’.
Cohen also remembered an earlier encounter with the Maroon 5 singer. She said he had given her a thumbs-up after hearing her perform “Sunday Morning” at a restaurant. That memory helped her choose Team Adam.
A familiar ballad returns to television
“Changes” appeared on Black Sabbath’s 1972 album “Vol. 4.” Ozzy Osbourne later recorded it with daughter Kelly Osbourne; their 2003 duet topped the U.K. singles chart.
Cohen’s audition adds another moment to a season that has already attracted attention. Read our season 30 ratings report and follow TV and streaming coverage.
