There have been allegations of sexual misconduct against Jared Leto since 2005. So the question we must ask ourselves is, why has he been allowed to continue with this behavior? But before we can address that question, we’ll need to talk about the accusations and the details surrounding them. Warning, this story could be triggering. Take care of yourself first.
What’s New?
What brought this up again if it’s been going on for so long? On April 18, 2025, Allie Teilz, DJ, music producer, and model, shared a 2012 post in her Instagram stories. In that post, she wrote, ” You’re not really in LA until Jared Leto tries to force himself on you backstage at an M83 show.”
This is made even more damning by the additions to her stories. There are so many replies to her post from other women speaking up about their experiences with Leto. There are too many to include, but we’ll add more at the end. Teilz shared her story after an anonymous underage girl shared her own story of being approached by Leto with Teilz. Now, in her Instagram stories, you can see post after post from women who, as underage girls, had inappropriate sexual encounters with Jared Leto. Some are cases where he approached them, and others get much more serious because the girls went along with him.
Where Does it Start?
Jared Leto, known for movies like “Dallas Buyers Club” and “Suicide Squad,” has accusations going back to at least 2005. That’s when the New York Post received a tip from an anonymous source that Leto was “creepy” and texted girls who were 16 and 17 years old. They said, “He’s been approaching all the girls and inviting them to his shows.” This was in reference to the young teen models he was pursuing.
In 2015, Contemptor shared a reminder of accusations made against the actor. The quotes they share were posted to forums that are no longer available. So we’re glad that writer Evangeline Van Houten collected them. Here are some of the quotes from alleged survivors:
I felt as though I was being ra*ed and not even a “play ra*e”. In his mind, it seemed like he thought he was f**king ra*ing me. It was very odd.”
i had sex with him when i was fifteen.
I lost all respect for Jared Leto after I met too many teenage girls who have been approached by Jared in order to sleep with them.
In a 2022 article from Accountability News, they mention a message board post that had been deleted. It was from an anonymous poster who talked about being molested by Leto when she was 17. Then there’s the story of a girl who met him on a movie set. She alleges that, at 17, she was told by Leto to say out loud that she was 14 or 15. And she said, “He was very pushy into coercing me to do sexual acts with him, and he was quite rough and forceful.”
Let’s also talk about the Dylan Sprouse comments. In 2018, he posted on X (then Twitter), “Yo @JaredLeto now that you’ve slid into the dm’s of every female model aged 18-25, what would you say your success rate is?” There was no response from Jared Leto, but many of his fans jumped to his defense. This isn’t the most damning post but it does show that people knew what Leto was up to. The alleged (and since deleted) reply from director James Gunn was more telling: “He starts at 18 on the Internet?”
In the posts shared with Allie Teilz, girls share stories of parties where it was all young girls with Jared Leto and his brother, as well as staff. They allege that Brent Bolthouse, an entrepreneur, kept a list they called the “Bolthouse list,” which was all underage girls he would invite to these parties.
Finally, there’s this post, which seems to refer to Leto’s band, 30 Seconds to Mars:

Stories like this never seem to stop. Is Jared Leto guilty of everything he’s been accused of? There’s a lot of evidence. A lot of witnesses. And a lot of accusers. Allegedly. He still has a lot of stalwart fans despite these allegations popping up now and again. What can be done to protect young people from predators? That’s the real question.
