The Walmart deals event runs Oct. 5-11, giving shoppers a week of discounts on home goods, clothing, toys and other products. HomePage News reported the schedule ahead of the sale, while Walmart’s announcement page listed a midnight Eastern start on Oct. 5.
The event arrives before the main Black Friday shopping period. Walmart’s weeklong promotion also overlaps Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days and Target’s Circle Deal Days, both scheduled for Oct. 6-7, according to HomePage News.
Walmart deals event: Check the actual price
Walmart previewed discounts of up to 50% on home products, 40% on apparel and 30% on toys and food. Its promotional badges also advertised home upgrades at up to 40% off and wellness products at up to 20% off. Those figures describe different offers, rather than a uniform discount across every product.
The retailer’s deals page includes individual product listings with current and comparison prices. That makes the item price, rather than the largest advertised percentage, the useful starting point for shoppers watching their household budgets. Compare the specific model and quantity before deciding whether an offer meets your needs.
Check membership and trial terms
Walmart+ is a separate paid membership with shipping, delivery and other benefits. Walmart’s current membership page advertises a 30-day trial for $1.
The standard annual membership fee is $98. Qualifying government assistance recipients and college students can receive a discounted plan at $49 a year or $6.47 a month. Check eligibility and renewal terms before joining, rather than assuming the sale price itself covers the membership.
Check shipping and delivery costs
Shipping and local-store delivery have different conditions. Walmart+ offers eligible Walmart.com shipping without an order minimum, but most Marketplace items are excluded and freight or location surcharges may apply. Free local-store delivery generally requires a $35 order minimum and is subject to restrictions.
For shoppers planning seasonal purchases, the checkout total provides a clearer comparison than the advertised markdown alone. Include any shipping or delivery fees when considering the effect on your everyday spending.
