Top 5 Brie Larson Movies Every Fan Should See

Top 5 Brie Larson Movies

Over the years, Brie Larson has had some pretty interesting movie roles. We’ve seen her take on some interesting roles over the years, from being a rock star to being a superhero, to even taking on the likes of King Kong himself. Larson has had some pretty memorable roles. So here is a list of movies we think you should check out of Brie Larson’s best films.

1. Scott Pilgrim vs the World

This is the movie that put Brie Larson in my point of view and is still talked about to this day. Scott Pilgrim vs the World is about Scott Pilgrim, played by Michael Cera, who falls for Ramona Flowers, played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead, but in order to date her, he must take on her seven evil exes. Larson played the Envy Adams, Scott’s ex-girlfriend and lead singer of “Clash at Demonhead”, who ends up dating Ramona’s evil ex, Todd Ingram, bassist for the band, and a vegan with superpowers.

Envy is someone who has let her fame go to her head, which affected her and Scott’s relationship. Brie Larson plays her with as much star power as one can put into the character. She is also no stranger to music, as Larson is a music artist in her own right, so she brings out the diva in this character. In 2023, Larson reprises the role of Envy for ‘Scott Pilgrim Takes Off’, which was an anime-style show. If you have to pick a movie of hers to start with, then Scott Pilgrim vs the World is a good start.

2. 21 Jump Street

If you were looking for a good laugh, this is the movie for you. 21 Jump Street not only stars Larson, but it headlines with an all-star cast like Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, Dave Franco, and more. Larson plays the love interest of Hill’s undercover cop character and plays it up well. If you’ve never seen this movie, it’s about two cops who become best friends who get assigned to the Jump Street division and are issued a drug case gone wild.

Brie Larson plays it pretty straight in this movie, but one of my favorite parts is towards the climax of the movie, where she is completely drunk at the wrong place and time. Her chemistry with Hill works great on screen, so you believe that her character and his character would end up together, but of course, reality sets in when he reveals himself as a cop, and she’s just a high school student. Even though she is not the main headliner in this film, it still counts as one of her best films. Everyone to check it out.

3. Captain Marvel

She definitely did her thing for this movie as we see Brie Larson take on Carol Danvers, a.k.a. Captain Marvel. This movie follows Danvers after crashing to earth, having a two-piece pack her memory to find out who she is in defeat the alien race called the Skrulls. This movie also features a de-aged Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury, and a de-aged Clark Greg as Agent Coulson. What I love about this movie is that this is the first Marvel movie to headline a female actress as the main character. That universe was lacking that element, but this movie helped change that.

This film also shows a lot about how Nick Fury becomes the man we all know in love or fear. It also shows that not everything is black and white as it seems, especially when you find out you’re working for the wrong side. Larson embodies Danvers as best as she can in the film and makes you excited to see the next installments of her adventures. It’s also a real throwback to the 90s and one of the last times you got to see the legendary Stan Lee on the screen. So if you need a superhero movie to watch soon, Captain Marvel is definitely the one to watch.

4. Kong: Skull Island

This film has one of the best all-star casts in the Monster-verse and features lore so great that it would later tie into the other Godzilla/Kong films and series. Brie Larson plays Mason Weaver, a photo investigator who, along with James Conrad, played by Tom Hiddleston, is recruited to go on an expedition to Skull Island.

Of course, things go wrong when they have an encounter with the beast himself, Kong. What I love about this movie is the fact that Larson’s character has sort of a connection to Kong and the nature around it. And that’s kind of what you want with her character. She’s fearless and willing to get whatever shot she wants to get, in her curious nature also plays well within the story.

5. Fast X

The franchise that’s lasted this long, Brie Larson, fits into it almost perfectly. She plays Tess Petty, the daughter of Mr. Nobody, played by Kurt Russell, who teams up with Dominic Toretto and his crew to take down the madman Dante Reyes, played by Jason Momoa. Just like all the other films of course there are explosions car chases and a lot of butt kicking. Larson, in this role, as you can tell it’s definitely having fun and not only fills the void of Mr. Nobody not being around but also doesn’t play by anybody’s rules, especially when the rules have changed.

There has been no word if her character will make an appearance in Fast X part two, but if she doesn’t make an appearance in this movie, I see her featuring in the untitled female lead spinoff that’s been talked about for years.

But those are just some of Brie Larson’s roles that we love. What is your guise’s favorite role by Brie Larson? Let us know here at Total Apex Entertainment!!
