Apple TV+ is producing original podcasts, and the latest is an entry in the true crime genre called Big Time.’ The host and producer is the incomparable Steve Buscemi, who you’ll know from movies like Fargo, Reservoir Dogs, and Con Air.
The Podcast
‘Big Time will be a 14-episode true crime series that covers crimes that went over the top. “I think a lot of people, myself included, are fascinated by folks who look at the rules and think, ‘No, I’ve got a better idea,’ ‘Big Time’ isn’t just true crime — it’s a carnival of chaos, and I’m excited for listeners to tune in,” Steve Buscemi said in a quote from the press release on Apple.com.
In the press release, they told us that there will be crimes like “fake kidnappings, elaborate robberies, even stolen sharks.”
If you’re a subscriber to Apple TV+, you can connect your subscription to Apple Podcasts to listen to the new episodes early. The first episode was released on March 24, and there are currently four episodes. Those first four episodes are ‘The Ride’ about John Looker, who fakes having cancer and takes his town (and more) for a ride. Two episodes are dedicated to two men who won a streak of fishing trophies for the biggest fish until something fishy was discovered. In the premiere episode, we’re treated to the tale of a mother who’s a little too dedicated to her daughter’s success as a popular girl.
The finale will be released on June 16.
The Host
Steve Buscemi is a 67-year-old actor whose film and television credits include 185 movies and shows. In addition to the podcast, Buscemi will be appearing in Netflix’s Wednesday season two, which stars Jenna Ortega.
