Stellantis affordable cars are a central part of the automaker’s North American growth plan, with a target of nine vehicles starting below $40,000 by 2030. Two of those vehicles would be new Chryslers starting below $30,000, according to the company’s official Investor Day transcript.
These are future targets rather than prices shoppers can expect across today’s lineup. The distinction matters if you are deciding whether to buy now or wait for another option.
What the Stellantis affordable cars plan actually promises
At its May 21, 2026 Investor Day, the company outlined 11 all-new nameplates and refreshes for 12 existing models in North America by 2030. Separately, it said the regional showroom would contain nine vehicles with starting prices below $40,000.
That does not mean all nine are new models. The official presentation compares the future target with two vehicles starting below that threshold in its 2025 baseline.
Chrysler is a major part of the expansion. The company described three planned crossovers below the Pacifica, including two smaller vehicles built around shared European platforms to help reach lower price points.
Why Filosa sees an opening
CEO Antonio Filosa returned to the affordability theme at the Automotive News Congress in Detroit. Motor1’s report on his remarks says he sees a “huge opportunity” for cheaper vehicles and wants the company to compete more effectively with established rivals.
Stellantis affordable cars would give shoppers more choices beyond its larger or more expensive offerings. Its North American plan also includes midsize and compact pickups, though shoppers should wait for model-specific announcements before treating a proposed price or launch date as settled.

Starting prices need a closer look
A starting-price target is only the beginning of a buying comparison. Ask what trim is included, whether destination charges are additional, and what taxes, registration and optional equipment would add to the final quote.
Stellantis affordable cars could broaden the shortlist for budget-conscious drivers, but a headline price cannot tell you whether a particular vehicle fits your needs. Compare equipment and the full dealer quote before deciding.
What to watch as the roadmap develops
Look for confirmed model names, launch timing and published pricing as the plan moves forward. Affordability is one part of the company’s turnaround, alongside the issues discussed in our report on Stellantis quality problems.
The roadmap offers a reason to watch Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram closely. Delivery of the promised vehicles, at the stated price points, will determine what this plan means for buyers.
