Star Wars: Galactic Racer launched Oct. 6, 2026 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X. Amazon Prime members can play the single-player campaign at no extra cost through Amazon’s cloud gaming service Luna, according to VGC.
Star Wars Galactic Racer On Luna
Luna streams games to subscribers as part of a rotating library included with a Prime subscription. The single-player campaign and the Arcade and Scenario modes are all available to Prime members at no extra cost, according to VGC.
Jeff Gattis, Amazon’s head of gaming, said the goal was to make Galactic Racer available immediately rather than behind extra paywalls or downloads.
“We’ve always believed Luna players deserve to be in the action from day one, and Star Wars: Galactic Racer makes that a reality for the first time,” Jeff Gattis, Amazon’s head of gaming, told VGC. “Luna players can jump into the single-player campaign the moment it launches without needing to own a console or wait for a lengthy download. If they’re a Prime member, they already have it at no additional cost.”
What Else To Know
Luna’s broader library also lets Prime subscribers claim select PC games each month through storefronts like GOG and Epic Games Store, according to VGC. Games claimed that way remain accessible even after a player cancels Prime.
Why It Matters For Racing Fans
Star Wars: Galactic Racer is the first Star Wars racing game since 2002, according to Polygon, making its day-one availability through Prime Luma a low-barrier way for longtime fans to try the long-awaited return of the genre. Early reviews have been enthusiastic: The Verge called it a dream come true for fans who grew up with podracing, while Polygon described it as the best arcade racing game in a generation.
For players without the hardware to run the game locally, Luma’s streaming setup removes the usual entry costs tied to a new release, letting Prime members try the game immediately rather than waiting on a sale or a console upgrade.
What’s Next
The single-player campaign, Arcade mode and Scenario mode stream through Luna for Prime members. The game is also available for purchase on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X. Multiplayer races launch later; according to IGN, the multiplayer mode supports 12-player online races (eight for podracers) with a six-event championship structure.
