Daily Devotional Tuesday Thoughts | July 28, 2026
It’s Tuesday, and it’s time for your daily devotional. Through Micah, God rebuked His people for their disobedience and evil ways. As a believer, keep the fire of the Holy Ghost always burning. If you get lax, your passion will dampen. God had so blessed His people; they couldn’t fathom that destruction would come. In today’s daily devotional, God’s blessings are not given so you can let down your guard, but to keep your fire burning.
Grow in the Knowledge of Jesus
It’s sad when the church begins to lose its fire, and believers’ flames get dim. In Micah 3, the leadership of Israel and Judah were chided for leading their nations into sin. They weren’t examples of righteousness, and the people were following in their footsteps. Ephesians 4:11 lists the ministry gifts that Christ gives to the church: apostles, prophets, pastors, evangelists, and teachers. And in verse 12, he explains, “For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.”
Leaders’ responsibility is to preach and teach the Word so God’s people’s faith develops and they grow in the knowledge of Jesus. Then the entire body will be perfected in Him and be safeguarded from deceit. In your daily devotional, God expects accountability despite your exposure to bad leadership; be a God-follower, not a man-follower.
Let His Goodness Draw You
Even though God warned His people they’d be punished for their idolatry and turning against Him, He promises restoration in the last days. God made a covenant with Abraham that He would never forsake His seed. That should make you extremely glad because you are a spiritual son of Abraham. In 4:1, Micah announces that “the house of the Lord shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills.” In verse 2, “the law shall go forth out of Zion, and the word of the Lord from Jerusaslem.”
God will restore righteousness in Jerusalem, and it will be a place where God’s word will be upheld. And people will be drawn to Jerusalem and see the blessings of the Lord upon its people. In this daily devotional, God is in the restoration business; He desires that you abide in Him. Let His goodness draw you in.
Keep Victory in Sight
Micah continues by prophesying peace, protection, strength, and deliverance. Nations will rise against them, but God will use it to refine them and make them stronger. They’ll be threshed like wheat but come out as gold. Assyria captured Israel, and Jerusalem was led into the Kingdom of Babylon, but God delivered His people, and those kingdoms fell to the ground.
In 2 Corinthians 4:9, Paul says, “Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed.” As a believer, you’ll have trials but keep victory in sight because God always causes you to triumph. In your daily devotional, God is for you, not against you, and there’s no weapon formed against you that’ll prosper when you cling to the Lord.
Christ Brings Hope to Keep Your Fire Burning
In Tuesday’s daily devotional, though Micah speaks of trials, he prophesies a Savior in 5:2: “But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.” In today’s daily devotional, Christ brings hope, encouraging you to keep your fire burning.
