Daily Devotion Wednesday Wisdom | March 4, 2026
It’s Wednesday, and time for your daily devotion. In Luke 8, Jesus preached and taught from city to city, bringing the good news of the Kingdom. The word was going forth, and people were seeking healing. In today’s daily devotion, know that when the Miracle Worker is present, anything is possible.
Looking for Jesus
In verse 40, people are seeking and receiving Jesus with joy. He’s moving through crowds to get to the house of Jairus, a ruler of the synagogue, who has requested that Jesus come and heal his daughter. While the crowd is thronging Him, a woman who’s been suffering for twelve years from an irregular blood flow is looking for Jesus. This woman’s condition has made her ceremonially unclean, and she shouldn’t be out among the people.
However, you must be willing to set aside protocol if it stands in the way of receiving from God. Matthew 11:12 declares that “the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.” Faith means believing God until His promise manifests in your life. Faith is pressing through whatever barriers stand in your way. In your daily devotion, when you need a miracle, be willing to do whatever it takes to get to the Miracle Worker.
Only One Touch

This woman has spent all her money on doctors but hasn’t been healed. It’s been twelve long years, and she’s desperate. She wants her life back, and Jesus is her only hope. She’s heard about His many miracles and healing of multitudes. When she finally draws near to Jesus, faith and anticipation fill her heart.
Verse 44 says she, “Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.” The power of God goes through her, and she’s now healed by one touch of the Master’s robe. In this daily devotion, say out loud, “It only takes one touch.”
Jesus Turns Around
Jesus turns around, asking, “Who touched me? While everyone’s denying, Peter looks at the crowd and says everyone’s thronging around You; how can You ask that? But Jesus responds, “Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.” The woman can’t just pretend she hasn’t been restored, so she steps forward, though trembling with fear.
She’s been ceremonially unclean, and, according to Jewish law, shouldn’t be there. But falling at Jesus’s feet, she confesses that it was she who touched him, and that she was instantly healed.
Faith Makes Whole
If the woman was expecting a harsh word from Jesus, she received the opposite. When Jesus looks at her, it is with eyes of compassion. Then He speaks, saying, “Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.” Gratitude fills her heart, and she rejoices in praise and thanksgiving.
She can return home free, no longer bound by the sickness that held her captive for twelve years. In today’s daily devotion, when you trust in God, don’t become weary or default to doubt and unbelief; stay in faith. In your daily devotion, know that faith receives the promise.
A Bright Future
In Wednesday’s daily devotion, when you have an encounter with Jesus, you don’t ever leave the same. If you’re bound, you’re set free. Like the woman with the issue of blood, you’re no longer a captive, and your future is bright.
