Daily Devotion Monday Motivation | March 16, 2026

In daily devotion, a Bible is open to Mark.

Happy Monday! It’s time for your daily devotion. Faith is an important tenet of Christianity. The Bible says it’s impossible to please God without faith. In Mark 11, Jesus teaches His disciples important lessons about faith that believers must cultivate in their hearts. In today’s daily devotion, to receive God’s promises, you must have faith.

Faith in God

In Mark 11:22, Jesus responds to Peter after he inquired about what all the other disciples were wondering. They had just seen a fig tree withered that Jesus had cursed because it had no fruit on it when He came to eat of it. Although this fig tree is symbolic of the Pharisees, who were scriptural experts but bore no fruit of God, they had witnessed an actual tree wither.

While they’re amazed, Jesus responds, “Have faith in God.” This seems like a simple answer, but faith requires knowledge and a belief system that activates God’s word. In your daily devotion, examine your faith. Do you have faith in God?

God’s Word is Infallible

In His reply, Jesus tells His disciples to have the God-kind of faith. Because God is a God of faith, what He speaks comes to pass. And when you speak God’s word in faith, it will come to pass because His word is infallible. In verse 23, Jesus makes a stunning proclamation: “Whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.” In this daily devotion, Jesus teaches an important principle that will determine whether your faith works.

Speak Words of Faith

Jesus teaches that saying or speaking words of faith is necessary by declaring, “Whosoever shall say.” Spoken words activate your faith. Romans 10:9 involves speaking in receiving salvation: “If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Speaking is involved in receiving salvation; therefore, in your daily devotion, speak as well as believe God’s word to activate your faith.

God’s Word Works

When you speak God’s word to mountains or problems in your life, they will have to move. They may not move immediately, but the word has been spoken, and you must believe that it is working. When Jesus cursed the fig tree, it showed no instant change, but the next day, it had withered from the roots. Believe God’s word no matter what a situation looks like or how long a process may take. In today’s daily devotion, say out loud, “God’s word will work if you work it.”

Do Not Doubt

Jesus instructs his disciples not to doubt in their hearts. Doubt and unbelief will not obtain the things of God. Sometimes faith is a journey. Ways of thinking may need to be abandoned before your faith develops. Doubting tells God you don’t believe His word, and it hinders your faith. Before Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, He declared, “If thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God.” In this daily devotion, determine that you’ll receive by faith in God.

Have Big Faith in God

In Monday’s daily devotion, there is a saying, “Big faith, big power; little faith, little power. When you have the God-kind of faith, your faith has power. It’s not powerful just because you said it, but because it has God’s backing. God’s word includes His promises to you, and you will receive them by believing and speaking them in faith.
