Daily Devotion Wednesday Wisdom | March 11, 2026

In daily devotion, a bible with red page tips sits on a black background.

Happy midweek! It’s time for Wednesday’s daily devotion. The New Testament is full of people who were on fire for Christ and preached the gospel passionately. In today’s daily devotion, be a willing vessel God can use to make an impact on those around you.

Passionate for Christ

Acts 18:2 introduces Priscilla, who is the wife of Aquila, a Jew, and she’s a preacher along with her husband. They’d left Italy after Claudius expelled Jews from Rome. Now living in Corinth, they meet Paul, who has arrived from Athens. Seeking them out as co-laborers in the gospel and fellow tentmakers, he discovers a couple passionate about Christ. In your daily devotion, there’s a saying that if you’re on fire, they will come to watch you burn. In other words, your passion for Christ will catch someone else’s attention.

Preaching the Word

About a year and a half after working together, Paul takes Priscilla and Aquila with him to Ephesus, and they establish a church in their home after Paul leaves. Priscilla, along with Aquila, is committed to teaching and preaching the gospel. She’s interested in building the kingdom and making disciples.

In your daily devotion, know that men and women both have a stake in the gospel, which is the good news of Jesus Christ who died for our sins and made us heirs of salvation as children of God. Priscilla wants to bring others to Christ through the gospel message.

Unveiling the Gospel

In Acts 18:24, Apollos is a passionate preacher who arrives in Priscilla and Aquila’s city: “And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.” Apollos is an expert in Scripture, full of zeal for God, but he only knows about John’s baptism. He begins preaching boldly in the synagogue. Then verse 26 says that after Priscilla and Aquila heard him, “they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.”

Priscilla played a significant part in developing this dynamic preacher who went on to do great work and is mentioned by Paul in Scripture. After Priscilla and Aquila shared the gospel with Apollos, he skillfully brought many souls to the kingdom. Verse 28 says, “For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publicly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.” In this daily devotion, determine that your passion and knowledge of the Scriptures will point others to Jesus, the Savior of the world.

Freely Give

Priscilla, along with Aquila, built others up in the faith. The gospel is to be shared, not kept to yourself. It is to be given, not just received. In Matthew 10:8, Jesus says that “freely ye have received, freely give.” At the heart of the gospel is love for humanity. Love is key in your faith journey. Paul teaches that love isn’t selfish but kind. In today’s daily devotion, it’s never about us, but about Christ. Love shares the gospel without feeling that someone else will become greater.

Be a Willing Vessel

In Wednesday’s daily devotion, Paul sends greetings to Priscilla and Aquila in his last letter to Timothy, mentioning the church in their house. After many years, Priscilla is still on her post, along with Aquila, preaching and teaching the gospel. In your daily devotion, like Priscilla, be a willing vessel God can use to build up others in the faith.
