Daily Devotional For Tuesday Thoughts | February 24, 2026
It’s Tuesday, and time for your daily devotion. Not having Jewish ancestry isn’t a strike against you because God loves everyone the same. Paul declares in Galatians 3:28, “There is neither Jew nor Greek,” for all are one in Christ. In today’s daily devotion, know that faith in the Son of God unites us as one family.
Cornelius the Centurion
In Acts 10:1-2, Cornelius, a Roman centurion, is introduced as a believer in the God of Israel. Italian by birth, he’s a devout Jewish proselyte who prays and gives generously to God’s people. In verse 3, an angel appears to Cornelius in a vision, telling him that his prayers and giving are known to God. In your daily devotion, determine that you’ll remain faithful, for God hears your prayers and knows the sacrifices you make.
Peter’s Vision
The angel instructs Cornelius to send men to Joppa to search for Peter and to invite him to his home. Cornelius chooses two faithful servants and a God-fearing soldier and sends them forth to find Peter. It matters who you entrust with a God-given assignment. A day later, as they’re approaching Joppa, Peter goes up to the roof to pray, then falls into a trance, seeing a sheet lowering from heaven with various animals from the earth.
He hears a voice saying, “Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.” But he objects because these are “common or unclean” animals. Then the voice replies, “What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.” This vision occurs three times, and then the sheet returns to heaven. In this daily devotion, sometimes the Lord will give you a message that challenges what you hold to be true.
Going to Joppa

Peter ponders what the vision meant, while the men Cornelius sent are at the gate, inquiring of him. The Spirit then tells Peter that three men are looking for him, and he is to go with them unquestioningly, for He has sent them. Peter goes to meet the men to understand the nature of their visit. They explain that the centurion Cornelius was told by an angel to send for him and to hear his words.
After lodging them overnight, Peter, the three men, and a few others from Joppa head out. In today’s daily devotion, declare that you’ll obey God’s voice, even when you lack clarity. God has a purpose for everything. Commit to being on board with His purpose.
Cornelius Receives Salvation
The next day, they arrive, and Cornelius is waiting for them, along with his relatives and close friends. Cornelius tells Peter what the Lord told him. Then Peter begins to preach the gospel to them, and while he’s preaching, they’re filled with the power of God as the Holy Ghost falls on them. Then Peter baptizes them.
Cornelius, his family, and close friends have received salvation. As Gentiles, they’ve just been born again, saved by the grace of God through faith in Jesus. In your daily devotion, rejoice that in the same manner that Peter and the other disciples received the Holy Ghost on the day of Pentecost, Cornelius and his household also received the gift.
Message is For All Men
In Tuesday’s daily devotion, Peter is eventually called in by church leaders for going to “men uncircumcised.” He recounts his experiences, including the vision he saw. The sheet let down from heaven with all types of animals represents the Gentiles, who were considered unclean by the Jews. Paul declares in Galatians 5:4-5 that righteousness isn’t by circumcision, but by faith. God’s piercing message is that all people are accepted into His family.
