Spider-Man 4 Rumored Title Allegedly Exposed Online

8 Deaths of Spider-Man

While Spider-Man 4 is yet to be released in theatres, the title has allegedly leaked online. There have been many rumors in recent weeks ever since Tom Holland revealed that his forthcoming web-slinging solo film was in the works. Shortly after Holland’s announcement, Sony Pictures officially set Spider-Man 4 to hit theatres on July 24, 2026. The movie will be helmed by Shang-Chi director Dustin Daniel Cretton. The new Spider-Man film is sure to be a huge summer blockbuster, putting it two months after Avengers: Doomsday. Tom Holland will be busy as he will star in Christopher Nolan’s next film.

We don’t know about the plot; it will be expected to pick up where No Way Home left off. That film brought in different Spider-Men and Spider villains from other universes. To stop multiversal destruction, Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) placed a spell to make everyone, including MJ (Zendaya) and Ned (Jacob Batalon), forget about Holland’s Peter Parker. Holland shared that filming will begin next summer, and a “fire” was lit under him when he and his girlfriend/co-star Zendaya read the script. Despite his surprise appearance in No Way Home, Andrew Garfield has denied that he would be in the new film.

Rumors about the title leak have happened before, as much speculation surrounds the movie’s plot. Holland never announced the title despite confirming his return as the web-slinger. One rumor was that the title’s name was Spider-Man: Brand New Day. According to the leak, the title is seemingly a nod to the Brand New Day comic storyline that followed One More Day, which erased Peter and MJ’s marriage and made everyone forget Spider-Man’s secret identity, which he revealed in the Civil War comic book storyline. The list included a synopsis explaining what Peter has been up to since the events of No Way Home.

Per the rumored synopsis, “Following the events of Doomsday, Peter Parker wants to live a normal life and focus on college, stepping back as Spider-Man. However, things are short-lived when a new threat emerges, endangering his friends and forcing Peter to reconsider his promise. With stakes high, Peter reluctantly returns to his Spider-Man identity and finds himself teaming up with an unlikely ally to protect those he loves.” The casting alone provides potentially exciting information despite the plot being very generic. Michael Keaton, Andrew Garfield, and Robert Downey Jr’s Doctor Doom are mentioned as cast members. Holland nor Sony have neither confirmed nor denied the rumored speculations about the title.

Aside from Holland, Zendaya is the only official cast member listed. This particular title may seem appropriate considering the events of No Way Home. In Resembling the One More Day storylineNo Way Home reset Parker’s relationship with MJ and erased Spider-Man’s identity from memory. So, naming Spider-Man 4 after the comic book plot would be a reasonable move, considering the similar elements. Fans will find out the title soon, and there have been rumors of Tom Hardy’s Venom appearing in a Spider-Man film despite Venom: The Last Dance being Hardy’s last iteration of the character.

Since the movie is between Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, Spider-Man 4 will surely change the MCU like Deadpool and Wolverine did. In October, Holland appeared on an episode of Rich Roll’s podcast, expressing interest in making more Spider-Man movies. He acknowledged that he would continue playing the web-slinger if the story were truly best for the character. “I want to make another one. I want to make many more, but I want to do it for the right reasons.” Knowing that actors are in a comic-book story for the right reasons can make things very promising for comic-book projects.

Along with Spider-Man, many questions have been raised for Venom’s future since its third solo film was released in October. After the success of No Way Home, there was a lot of talk of more Spider-Man movies in the MCU. No Way Home was astonishing at the box office, proving itself as a top-level comic book movie. In the post-Endgame era, expectations have increased massively for Marvel movies. Holland’s third solo outing as the web crawler showed the need to outdo the Infinity Saga.

Despite the rumors, the plot has been kept under wraps, and the movie won’t start filming until summer 2025. Chris Mckenna and Erik Sommers will return to the Spider-Man series to write the script. Notably, the rumored title seems to be departing from the usual “home” phrase from the three films. Released in 2008, Spider-Man: Brand New Day picks up after the events of Civil War and One More Day, where a Mephisto deal that saw Mary Jane being resurrected in exchange for her memories of Peter being erased. One More Day was hated, but Brand New Day was very well received.

Destin Daniel Cretton will be the director for Spider-Man 4. Given his previous stint with Shang-Chi: Legend of The Ten Rings, Holland’s forthcoming Spider-Man solo film has a promising future in Cretton’s hands. Based on the rumored title and synopsis, it seems to tease that Parker may retire his Spider-Man alter ego in Doomsday only to wear the suit again in Spider-Man 4. The rumored storyline is very tempting; however, the information must be taken with a grain of salt. Given the time before the film begins production, there will be more rumors and speculations about the project.

If the title is accurate, Spider-Man 4 will probably use it to represent the new status quo Peter finds himself in. Now that no one knows who he is, he can be a regular person. Also, as the rumor insinuates, Peter could be teaming up with another Marvel character referred to as an “unlikely ally” to fight an unnamed threat in the movie. That ally could be none other than Eddie Brock as Venom, the massively rumored favorite to team up with the teenage web crawler. Tom Hardy said he would jump at the chance to interact with Hollans’s Spider-Man, although it was clear that The Last Dance was his final performance as the character.

Also, since every character’s appearance in the Holland-led movies has been well-established, someone else could join Peter. Could Chris Pratt return to the MCU as Star-Lord after leaving the Guardians of The Galaxy? After all, he is on Planet Earth and has already fought and interacted with Peter in Infinity War. They didn’t interact with each other on Endgame, but they both fought together after they were snapped back into existence by The Hulk when he used the Infinity Gauntlet. We know that Holland will be reprising his role as the web-slinger. As far as Zendaya, it is likely she will play MJ again since she and Holland both read the script.

Final Thoughts

Spider-Man 4 will undoubtedly shake up the MCU, given that it will be released after Avengers: Doomsday. Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have sometimes had a tumultuous relationship. In late 2019, the two sides reached an impasse on the character’s future in the MCU, and their agreement was called off temporarily. However, both sides resolved issues, which was followed by the No Way Home extravaganza. That made splashes with classic Spider-Man villains and the previous Spider-Men Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield into the MCU. 2025 and 2026 will be active years for Holland, who may have a role in Doomsday and is set to star in Christopher Nolan’s film, which is scheduled to be released on July 17, 2026.

Since Nolan’s untitled film will be released a week before Spider-Man 4, movie fans will get a double dip of Holland in back-to-back summer films. Although Doomsday will hit theatres on May 1, 2026, Holland may still shoot some scenes concurrently with Spider-Man 4. After all, Holland did film Infinity War and Endgame back-to-back. There has been no official confirmation on who the film’s villain will be, and there probably won’t be news on that front anytime soon. What exactly will happen in Spider-Man remains to be seen. Now that we have one month left until 2025, fans can look forward to the upcoming MCU films for next year, starting with Captain America: Brave New World.
