Per the Herald, the production crews are to arrive in Glasgow, Scotland, to begin filming scenes. Fans will see Holland reprise his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Slated for next year, Spider-Man 4 will be helmed by Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton. In addition, there have been rumors that Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner/The Hulk will appear in the movie.

Officially titled Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the movie will be released before Avengers: Doomsday. Filming is scheduled to begin on August 1 in Glasgow, where some streets will be closed to accommodate the film. Vehicles will be prohibited on parts of Wellington Street, Bothwell Street, Pitt Street, Bylthswood Street, Douglas Street, Campbell Street, Cadzow Street, and Oak Street. The prohibitions will be in effect between August 1 and August 9.

For filming on August 9 and 10, and August 11-13, vehicles will be prohibited from certain parts of Queen Street and Renfield Street. Additionally, South Frederick Street, Ingram Street, Drury Street, West Nile Street, and Hope Street will be closed to accommodate filming. Production will then take place at Marchant City, and many streets in the area will be closed between August 13 and 16.

Residents in the Glasgow city center received letters for the production, which has the working title ‘Blue Oasis.’ According to the letter, some scenes will have vehicles on the road. Plot details are kept under wraps, but Spider-Man franchise producer Amy Pascal teased what the story will be about back in December. She gave some details on Deadline’s Behind The Lens Podcast.

“We have to deal with the fact that he decided he was going to give up being Peter Parker, and that he was going to focus on being Spider-Man because being Peter Parker was too hard. So that’s what the movie is about.” To protect the Multiverse from collapsing, Doctor Strange erased everyone’s memories, including Happy Hogan, MJ Watson, and Ned Leeds of Peter Parker.

Final Thoughts

Spider-Man: No Way Home was a massive box office hit, grossing $1.9 billion worldwide. Fans will eagerly anticipate Spider-Man 4 after the third film went out on top. In addition to Holland, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon will also reprise their roles as MJ Watson and Ned Leeds. Michael Mando is also expected to return as Mac Gargan, and Liza Colón-Zayas is cast in an undisclosed role. Spider-Man 4 will hit theaters on July 31, 2026, with Avengers: Doomsday arriving five months later on December 18, 2026. In other news, the director of Jurassic World: Rebirth addressed the lackluster reviews of the movie.
