No Rest for the Wicked Delayed to March 2027, Open Beta Set for December

No rest for the wicked Lost huntress

Fans hoping to dive into No Rest for the Wicked’s full 1.0 release this October will have to wait a little longer. Moon Studios has officially pushed the launch window from October 2026 to March 2027, citing the need for additional polish, performance improvements, and class system refinements before the action RPG is ready for prime time.

While delays are rarely cause for celebration, the developers are making it clear that this decision comes from a commitment to quality rather than a lack of progress. In other words, No Rest for the Wicked isn’t stumbling across the finish line, it’s taking an extra lap to make sure its armor is polished and its sword isn’t clipping through a wall.

No Rest for the Wicked’s 1.0 Launch Moves to March 2027

Moon Studios shared the announcement directly with its community, explaining that the team is “close” to completing No Rest for the Wicked. However, the studio believes that close simply isn’t good enough for a full 1.0 release.

According to the developers, the extra development time will be used to improve performance, strengthen the game’s revamped class system, and deliver the level of refinement players expect from the creators of the Ori series.

The studio acknowledged that many fans were excited about the original October 2026 target, and admitted that delaying the game wasn’t an easy decision. Still, Moon Studios stressed that shipping an unfinished product would ultimately be a bigger disappointment than asking players to wait a few more months.

For fans who have followed No Rest for the Wicked throughout Early Access, the message was straightforward: quality comes first.

More Beta Testing Is Coming Before Launch

There is some good news hidden inside the delay announcement.

The additional development time means players will have more opportunities to experience No Rest for the Wicked before launch. Moon Studios confirmed that both closed and open beta testing periods are planned in the months leading up to release.

Most notably, an open beta is scheduled for December. That beta will give fans a chance to try new content firsthand and provide feedback that could directly influence the final version of the game.

In an era where some major releases seem to discover their biggest bugs after launch, letting players stress test systems ahead of time is probably a smart move.

Founder Rewards Confirmed for Early Supporters

Moon Studios also announced rewards for players who supported No Rest for the Wicked during Early Access.

Anyone who purchases the game on Steam before January 1, 2027, will receive Founder Pack rewards as a thank-you for backing the project before its full release.

PlayStation players won’t be left out, either. Since PlayStation pre-orders are scheduled to open in January 2027, those players will have an opportunity to earn the same Founder rewards when pre-orders become available.

It’s a small gesture, but one aimed squarely at the community that helped support No Rest for the Wicked during its development journey.

The New Class System Is Getting a Major Spotlight

Alongside the delay announcement, Moon Studios revealed additional details about one of No Rest for the Wicked’s biggest upcoming changes, its redesigned class system.

Following recent playtests, the studio said it became increasingly confident in the game’s overall direction. At the same time, feedback highlighted the need for more development and polish before launch.

To showcase progress, the team offered a glimpse at the new class system interface and some eye-catching numbers:

  • 24 Classes
  • More than 280 Class Traits
  • 6 Trait Slots
  • 6 Factions

According to Moon Studios, the overhaul is designed to dramatically increase build diversity and player freedom. The studio describes it as a transformative system that will allow players to approach No Rest for the Wicked in entirely new ways.

That’s an ambitious claim, but considering the depth already present in the game’s combat and progression systems, it certainly sounds promising.

Wicked Inside Showcase Arrives This October

Players eager for a closer look at the class overhaul won’t have to wait long.

Moon Studios confirmed that a new “Wicked Inside” presentation will arrive this October. The showcase is expected to provide a full deep dive into the revamped class mechanics and explain how the various classes, traits, factions, and customization options interact.

The developers have also begun teasing several of the armor sets arriving with version 1.0. The descriptions paint a vivid picture, featuring everything from steel-clad walking fortresses to plague-infused warriors, frozen monarchs, and stealth-focused gilded rogues.

If nothing else, No Rest for the Wicked appears determined to ensure players look good while carving their way across Isola Sacra.

For now, the countdown has shifted from October 2026 to March 2027, but Moon Studios is betting that a few extra months of development will make No Rest for the Wicked the experience fans have been waiting for. Until then, players can look forward to the December open beta and an October “Wicked Inside” showcase that should offer the clearest look yet at what awaits in the final release.
