Lionsgate Finally Releases Teaser Trailer for 2026 Michael Jackson biopic, Michael
From chronicling Michael Jacksonโs early days with the Jackson 5 to his rise as a global solo superstar, the film will be nostalgic for every devoted King of Pop fan. The trailer also incorporates his iconic songs like โThrillerโ and โWanna Be Startinโ Somethin”. The teaser trailer for the highly anticipated Michael Jackson biopic “Michael” was released on Thursday, November 6, 2025.
Jaafar Jacksonโs anticipated performance has created intense hype for the film
Featuring his nephew Jaafar Jackson in the lead role, the film was written by John Logan and directed by Antoine Fuqua. After multiple delays, the film is finally set to premiere in theaters on April 24, 2026. The trailer opens with a studio scene featuring Jaafar Jackson as his uncle Michael and Kendrick Sampson as Quincy Jones.
Jaafar Jacksonโs anticipated performance has already been praised tremendously. Everything from his physical resemblance to his uncle to his ability to capture his iconic dance moves is simply astonishing. With his debut single โGot Me Singingโ in 2019, Jaafar Jackson has already proven that he was destined for success. The son of Jermaine Jackson, his satin-tinged singing voice is also undeniable.
The filmโs production faced multiple setbacks, including a pause due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, and numerous reshoots were required. This occurred after the Jackson estate objected to depictions of the 1993 child-molestation allegations. This would have lead to the film being restructured into a single release rather than two parts. The filmโs talented cast also includes Nia Long as Katherine Jackson, Colman Domingo as Joe Jackson, Kat Graham as Diana Ross, and Miles Teller as John Branca.
