Fear Factor’s Savage Comeback

The new teaser for Fear Factor: The Next Chapter offers a glimpse into what viewers can expect from the upcoming TV series, serving as a nostalgic surprise for Fear fans.

The opening of the teaser begins with a hand loading up mixed fruit. Then, a handful of bugs resembling those in the cockroach family is thrown on top, followed by something brown that has a slimy texture. Lastly, a light green liquid is poured into the blender.

The roach smoothie blends into a brown, chunky drink that is dumped over the show title “Fear Factor: The Next Chapter” in the next scene. Anyone who is a fan of the Fear franchise is familiar with the challenge of drinking a random mixture, typically containing creepy crawlies and animal parts.

Fox Unleashes Fear Factor Frenzy

Fox could have created any reality competition show with the concept of fear, but reviving the franchise on Fox after 20 years is an attention-grabber. Fear Factor was originally ran on NBC from 2001 to 2012, hosted by Joe Rogan. Each episode usually had six contestants, who had to complete three stunts or rounds. Players were eliminated if they were unable to complete the stunt or finished in last place. The last player standing won a cash prize.

Some of the challenges include lying in a bed of rats, getting dragged by horses, eating random animal body parts, and stunts at extreme heights.

Only the Fearless Will Survive

Many fans will be tuning in to see if the show will live up to the extreme stunts and challenges from the early 2000s that kept viewers’ anxiety high and made contestants face their ultimate fear.

Fear Factor: The Next Challenge tagline, according to FoxFlash.com,

The iconic reality competition Fear Factoris coming back bigger, bolder, and more daring. Dropped into an unforgiving, remote location, a group of strangers will live together under one roof, and face mind-blowing stunts, harrowing challenges, and a twisted game of social strategy where trust is fleeting — and fear is a weapon. Only one contestant will conquer all their fears and walk away with the massive grand prize!

Reality TV personalities, combined with fear, money, and mental challenges in the house and during the competition, will make for a show with great potential, but only if the challenges push the boundaries of safety.

Johnny Knoxville: Fear’s New Mastermind

Fear Factor: The Next Chapter host will be MTV’s Jackass star Johnny Knoxville. He is one man who is no stranger to doing ridiculous, dangerous stunts for money on camera. On the show, Jackass, Knoxville and his friends did dares like teeter-tottering with a bull, playing with stun guns, and Knoxville was launched in a homemade rocket.

Knoxville will help the contestants laugh through their fear and keep them focused if he doesn’t do the challenge first. The President of FOX Television Network, Michael Thorn, has crowned Knoxville theking of fearless entertainment”.
