The Jaime King divorce is final. A Los Angeles judge ended the actress’s marriage to Austin Sosa on Friday, Oct. 2, nearly nine months after their split, according to Just Jared.
King, 47, and Sosa reportedly married in secret before Christmas 2025. Sosa filed for divorce in January. The couple had announced their engagement only months earlier, in July 2025.
Jaime King divorce finalized
The court terminated its ability to award King spousal support, court documents show. Sosa later asked the court to end the marriage by default, TMZ reported. The judge’s order says both parties are restored to single status.
“I’m looking ahead with a lot of gratitude and hope,” King told Us Weekly in a statement on Saturday. “My children are my heart and my priority, and this next chapter is really about being present for them, continuing to grow, and embracing the creative and professional opportunities ahead.”
King’s response to the filing
When news of the filing broke in January, King said it caught her off guard. “I was completely blindsided by the divorce filing, which came out of nowhere,” she told Us Weekly at the time.
“I was with Austin the night before it became public, and while like many marriages we had normal challenges, I genuinely believed we were working on our relationship,” she said.
Timeline of the relationship
Before the Jaime King divorce, she said she met Sosa through mutual friends in December 2024. The pair kept their courtship largely private before the secret wedding.
King was previously married to director Kyle Newman. Their divorce was finalized in September 2023, and they share two sons. For another high-profile split, see Bethenny Frankel’s divorce fight or Jason Biggs and Jenny Mollen’s separation.
