Little Nightmare VR Altered Echoes Will Make You Feel Like a Kid Again…In the Worst Way
The developers at Bandai Namco and ICONIK are gonna show a whole new world of a staple franchise that haunts kids and adults. Little Nightmares: Altered Echoes is coming Apr. 24, 2026, in VR on PlayStation 5 PSVR2, Steam, and Meta Quest. This horror puzzle adventure is seeping with atmospheric dread, and we’ll soon be able to see it up close and personal.
Altered Echoes VR Plot
Dark Six is an entity in the shape of a girl who must find the other part of herself to escape a deadly landscape. In doing so, she must be ready to face beings that tower over buildings, run through the dark underbelly, and evade deadly encounters to uncover fragments of herself. Only then, once she is finally a whole being, can she escape this netherworld. However, the road to the other pieces of herself isn’t the only trial she will face, as she will come to unravel the truths about her past and who she is.
First-Kid Perspective at Its Scariest

For the first time with VR, Altered Echoes will let you dive straight into the abyss that is the haunting realm of disfigured monstrosities and rotting lands without a shred of mercy. Everything is bigger, taller, and more threatening now that you will be able to see what this child sees. From towering towers of tables and chairs, to bathrooms tacked with hanging corpses of your fellow kin, this dimension isn’t going to hesitate to snatch you under. You’d better find your other self before something else does.
Adding to these horrifying facts is the air of mystery to your character, Dark Six. Not a real girl, not a whole being, but an entity that was plopped down into this underworld without knowing her purpose. What is this world to her, and why is she broken? Is this something of her own making, or was it a cruel twist of fate that sent her down here? What are we going to see when we find those pieces of her along this way?
What’s to Come From Within?

We are getting a close encounter of the monstrous kind as we run through areas littered with traps and critters that will latch onto you if you don’t watch your step. The twisted environment is strewn with hidden puzzles and paths concealed inside that darkness, but the light isn’t much safer either. Beware of all that looks “normal,” because even those standard objects could be a disguise of something horrible underneath.
Just like in the third-person games, this journey makes you duck and cover, freeze in the spotlight, and hope that the butcher didn’t see your leg tucked behind a box. This unfamiliar, strange world holds foes and places that emit an unsettling familiarity that speaks volumes to why Dark Six is here to begin with. What does all this mean for her, for you, for this world?
Who’s Ready to Drop Into a Little Nightmare?
Little Nightmare: Altered Echoes will be coming out on April 24th, meaning you all need to brush up on your gameplay. Revisit those old haunts and prepare yourselves for whatever Altered Echoes is going to trigger your way. Be careful because the thing that comes at you may not give you a chance to look around the spawn room. Good luck.
