Resident Evil Requiem – Victor Gideon Boss Fight Full Guide
Now that Resident Evil Requiem has been out for a few days, people are already finishing their playthroughs, collecting loot, fighting off the infected, and progressing through the story. Now, it’s time to talk about why this is all happening in the first place. The newest main antagonist introduced in Resident Evil Requiem, Victor Gideon, is who we’re dealing with this time, so here’s a full guide to the Victor Gideon boss fight in Resident Evil Requiem.
Victor Gideon Boss Fight Phase 1

Victor Gideon will be the final boss fight you have to deal with in the main story playthrough. There are two phases to this boss fight, as is per Resident Evil fashion. At the end of Resident Evil Requiem, you’ll be faced with the choice to either release or destroy Elpis, the cure for the T-Virus. If you release Elpis, Leon will be cured of his infection, and a boss fight with Victor will ensue, after the platform you are standing on is destroyed, and you land at the bottom of ARK.
In Phase 1, you’ll face Victor in his mutated human form. There are certain conditions you need to be aware of to effectively defeat this form of Victor.
Stagger
Equip a heavy-hitting weapon like your shotgun or Requiem. Wait for him to finish a melee combo and shoot him directly in the chest. If you do enough damage, Victor will drop to one knee. When he does this, don’t keep shooting; you’ll end up wasting ammo doing this. While he’s down, there will be crates you can destroy to pick up ammo and healing items around the area.
Electrical Charge
Midway through the boss battle, Victor will jump on one of the large scrap metal piles and begin channeling raw electricity. A bright, glowing line appears on the ground, which is exactly where he’ll throw his electrical blast. You can either shoot him while he charges or watch where he’ll shoot the electricity and dodge it. After he shoots the electricity, he will launch into the air and charge at you. Keep moving around to avoid him.
Rocket Launcher
When you reach the end of Phase 1, Victor will pull out a rocket launcher. Now, if you’re not new to the Resident Evil series, you’ll know this is something Leon will want to use on the final boss, as is his extravagant hero nature, something we’ve seen throughout the entirety of Resident Evil Requiem, at least during the times we’ve been playing as Leon.
Obviously, you’ll be able to steal and use it on Victor; however, you cannot let him shoot it before you get your hands on it. You also want to make sure that you have enough inventory space to hold the rocket launcher, so clear out any scrap or anything you’re not going to use at this point in the game. This will also effectively end Phase 1 of the boss battle.
Victor Gideon Boss Fight Phase 2

After you believe you have killed Victor in Phase 1, he will fall into a pit; however, he will re-emerge and turn into a huge towering monster, starting Phase 2. Resident Evil Requiem is notorious for its fake-outs, even with normal infected people, so it’s to be expected that we haven’t seen the last of Victor Gideon. Again, there are certain things you need to keep in mind during this fight that will be different than Phase 1.
Focus on His Arms
In his mutated monster form, Victor can feel a little intimidating to battle, especially since you lose your trusty rocket launcher after finishing Phase 1. It’ll be tempting to just start shooting at the massive pile of flesh in front of you, but don’t. Victor won’t take any damage from your bullets at this point in Phase 2.
Focus on shooting Victor’s tentacle arms. There will be several glowing red pustules scattered across his arms, and you’ll need to shoot them until you destroy all of them. This will cause Victor to expose the main core of his mutated body, and this is where you’ll want to start emptying your ammo into him. This will also push you into the next part of Phase 2.
Destroy the Orbs
After doing enough damage to Victor’s core, he’ll collapse and release a bunch of glowing orbs all over the ground. You’ll need to destroy all of them; however, you’ll only have a few seconds to do it, so use a weapon that can destroy multiple orbs at once, like a grenade or your shotgun.
Break Free of His Grip and Kill Victor Gideon
This cycle will repeat a few times, and each time will be progressively more difficult than the last. Once you’ve destroyed the orbs enough times, the game will cut to a sequence where Victor will grab you, and you’ll go through quick-timed events to break free of his grip. If you are successful, the game will push through to the kill animation sequence, where Leon will destroy Victor’s core with his hatchet, killing Victor once and for all, ending your playthrough of Resident Evil Requiem.
