Highly Anticipated Resident Evil Requiem Updates Avaliable Now in New 1.2 Patch Update

Resident Evil: Requiem

As one of the biggest games to release in 2026, Resident Evil Requiem has shattered records, becoming the fastest and best-selling game in the series, officially surpassing 6 million units sold worldwide as of mid-March. A few weeks ago, Capcom announced the release of a DLC and content updates for the game, including a main story expansion, photo mode, and a mini game, and now Resident Evil Requiem has updated the game in a new patch, which is available to download now.

Photo Mode

When news of the upcoming DLC expansion for Resident Evil Requiem was announced, Capcom also stated that they would be adding photo mode to the game for all gamers who want to take their epic Leon screenshots. You can access photo mode at the pause menu. Resident Evil Requiem’s photo mode lets you adjust your field of view, foreground and background blur, focus distance, character pose, expression, eye position, brightness, contrast, vignette, bloom, lens distortion, and chromatic aberration. You can also add frames, stickers, and various filters.

Players are already having a blast testing out their photographic prowess, and I’ve already seen some pretty wild and hilarious shots online. Some people have taken some wild shots of both Leon and Grace in their DLC costumes, making their photos a lot more cinematic. Others have opted for more funny scenes. I saw a photo of someone using the shirtless Leon mod and snapping photos of that. To each their own, I guess. All in all, photo mode has been highly anticipated, and fans are already loving the new update.

Other Improvements

Along with the addition of photo mode in Resident Evil Requiem, Capcom has also made some minor improvements to the game. The improvements include bug fixes, including an ammo glitch that would allow players to load ammo from certain weapons into another weapon, subtitle errors when translated from different languages, and a bug that stopped story progression under certain conditions.

One of the most notable improvements added to the game was improved character expressions in some cutscenes, which have “been adjusted to better convey emotion.” Now, the graphics in Resident Evil Requiem were already top-notch, and also something Capcom marketed heavily during the game’s promotional phase, so the fact that they can enhance character expressions even more is commendable and insane. I am definitely excited to see the new improvements in this update.

The DLC story expansion has yet to be released, but Resident Evil Requiem director Koshi Nakanishi has reassured fans that the dev team is currently working on its development. I suspect that the DLC will drop in May, at the same time that Capcom will reveal and release the surprise they claim to have in store for fans, which is believed by many to be a mini-game that will feature other characters from the series, though this is still speculation and rumors.

Capcom Announces Update on Their Website

Capcom recently announced the updates and additional content on the official Capcom website, highlighting all the improvements they’ve made to the game. Apparently, there were some specific bugs on PC than on console, so there are some patches that are only on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Here are all the listed improvements that Capcom announced on their website:

All Platforms

  • Photo mode has been added. It can be accessed from the pause menu.
  • Fixed a bug that caused progress to be impossible under certain conditions.
  • Typographical errors in some languages have been corrected.
  • Character expressions in some cutscenes have been adjusted to better convey emotion.
  • A number of issues were fixed to improve gameplay.

Steam/Epic Games Store

  • Fixed visual bugs that occurred with some GPU drivers.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the game to crash in some circumstances.
