Resident Evil Requiem – Expanding Grace’s Inventory Full Guide

Resident Evil Requiem made its full release last week, and it has already shattered records in its first few days. This installment has actually earned a reputation for being one of the scariest and most difficult games in the series, and guide makers are hard at work, making full walkthroughs for all the different things you can do in the game. As per Resident Evil fashion, an important game mechanic requires you to expand your inventory space the further you get in the game.

This is important because the further you get, the more loot you’ll find, and more often than not, you run into having to leave items behind because you don’t have any inventory space, and in Grace’s gameplay, it’s definitely a lot harder to do anything, given her inexperience as a Resident Evil protagonist. Here is a full guide to expanding Grace’s inventory in Resident Evil Requiem.

Expanding Grace’s Inventory Full Guide

In Resident Evil Requiem, the devs purposely made gameplay a lot more difficult when you play as Grace, given her personality and inexperience. The devs have explained that it makes Grace more relatable as a character, while making the game more difficult and immersive for players. One of the most important things you should focus on to make things easier for yourself is expanding Grace’s inventory space so you don’t often run into the issue of having to leave items behind because you don’t have any space to pick them up.

Grace starts with only 8 inventory slots at the start of the game. The only way to expand Grace’s inventory is to collect hip pouches, which you can find throughout your playthrough. There are 4 different hip pouches you can find in total, and each hip pouch will give you 2 extra inventory slots. Here are the locations of each hip pouch, and how to get them:

Hip Pouch # 1 Parlor

The first hip pouch can be found in the Parlor on the 1F of the West Wing. It will be locked inside a glass case that you can unlock by buying it using 3 Antique Coins.

Hip Pouch # 2 Filing Room Closet

This hip pouch can be found in the filing room closet off the dining room. You can only have access to the closet by using the Level 1 ID Wristband, which you’ll find naturally when you progress throughout the story. The hip pouch will be on top of a small chest, and you can find some ammo on the chest as well.

Hip Pouch # 3 Processing

The third hip pouch will be in a room on the left side of Processing in the Basement. You have to move the forklift to access the room, and once you do, you’ll find the hip pouch and the Care Center Basement map.

Hip Pouch # 4 Bioweapon Repository 05

The last hip pouch is found in the final area of the game, the Ark, specifically in the Bioweapon Repository 05. After entering this room, there will be a container in front of you with a white button on top of it. Open the container by pressing the button, and you’ll find the hip pouch inside it on top of a crate. This room also has a Licker lurking about, and opening the container will make noise alerting the Licker to your location, so be extra careful.

In total, you can unlock 8 extra inventory slots for Grace. The best part about focusing on expanding Grace’s inventory early on is that you can find 3 out of the 4 hip pouches you need inside the Care Center, which is the first location you start in the game. Collecting these hip pouches is essential for collecting loot, and you won’t have to backtrack too often as you progress in the game. Resident Evil Requiem is out now on all platforms, so make sure to check out this guide if you need some extra help while playing.
